Golden Clouds

We had a week-long stay at Golden Clouds with a group of 24 people. Everybody in our group agreed it was one of the best vacations and trips they have ever been on. There are several things that made our stay so amazing. First, the property is absolutely incredible. The view was amazing, the grounds were kept in great condition, and our group used and enjoyed just about every activity and amenity available. They had 4 kayaks available to take out at any time, along with many sets of snorkel gear. Our group used the basketball court, tennis court, and shuffleboard court nearly every day. There were also several great spots around the property to sit and relax and play some card games. The pool was perfect, and there was a nice big cove area down by the beach where our group spent most afternoons floating around and enjoying the ocean and sunshine. What made our trip most memorable was the staff. Everybody at Golden Clouds was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our week. David and Horace did an amazing job behind the bar. They always made sure we had something to drink, often packing a cooler for use to take down to the beach. They were amazing on dinner and lunch service as well. They were also great guys just to sit and chat with, and we learned a lot about Jamaican culture. They stayed up with us every night, and made sure we had everything we needed. Ken provided great service over breakfast and lunch. He was able to get our large group to the table for meals, and made sure everybody always had a full water glass or coffee cup. Chefs Wayne and Pollyanna prepared some of the best food we’ve ever had. There wasn’t a meal that our entire group didn’t enjoy - and our group had lots of folks who prefer different types of foods, and Wayne and Pollyanna were able to keep our group extremely well fed and very happy. We selected meals off of the preset menu, and they prepared nearly every type of cuisine – Jamaican, Chinese, Italian, seafood, tacos, burgers for lunch, etc. Wayne would ask us after nearly every meal if we enjoyed it, wanted anything different, and what time we wanted the next meal. It was great to learn about how he prepared meals. He would often take special desert or side dish requests from us too. He was also very friendly and fun to chat with. A couple of our favorites were the jerk chicken sandwich, and the pineapple pork chop meal – which was one of the best meals we’ve had anywhere. Ziggy, Collin, and Jackson kept the property in excellent shape while we were there. Ziggy had the beach raked and ready to go for us every day, and even built a bonfire for us on the beach one evening. He'd also grab fruit from around the property like apples and coconuts and prepare them for us as an afternoon snack. Jamoya checked in on us throughout our week, and made sure everything was great and our group was having a good time. She would offer to get us anything we needed, and ran to the store a few times for us to grab various foods and drinks. The housekeeping staff was excellent as well. They would have our rooms cleaned over breakfast time, and the laundry service they provided was very impressive. Alex, our driver for the week with Karandas Tours, and Claudia with Events with Elegance were also amazing. Alex got our group everywhere we needed to be safely, and taught us a lot about the area and local Jamaican culture. Claudia and her team transformed Golden Clouds into an incredible wedding venue, and we could not have been happier with what they did for us. When we left Golden Clouds, all the staff was there to see us off and say goodbye. We all agreed that it felt like we were saying goodbye to close friends. Throughout the week instead of staff, they became part of our family. We could not be happier with our time at Golden Clouds, and everything exceeded our expectations.
