1 reviewLovely apartment in a quiet area of Venice with a pretty terrace overlooking a canal. The owners are very friendly and helpful, speak good English and gave good directions, information and recommendations for local restaurants etc. Booking was smooth and straightforward. It is listed on several sites - I recommend checking them all out, as the one we booked with was cheaper, presumably because it did not charge massive listing fees to the owners. The apartment is very clean, well-equipped and simply but stylishly furnished, with lots of storage space. The standout feature is the delightful terrace, where you can sit and eat a meal, enjoy a coffee or glass of wine or just watch the world go by, at any time of day. It provides a cool sanctuary from the heat, and has lots of plants. The terrace is accessed from the kitchen through a glass door. The main bedroom and sitting room both overlook the canal. The single bedroom overlooks the calle (lane) to the side. It is situated in the Cannaregio area, which is away from the crowds, but attractive, lively and with some wonderful bars and restaurants. It is easy to get from there on foot or by boat to see the rest of Venice. It is near the first/last Alilaguna waterbus stop from/to Marco Polo, which made for an easy transit. You can catch the vaporetto to other parts of the city from the same stop (Orto), or the Fondamenta Nove, where the boats go to Murano, Burano and Torcello is also not far away.
