OK for a short stay. Definitely need a car.Pros: Nice and clean room (we had a family room) with AC, safe box and fridge, parking onsite, dinner available upon request, breakfast included.Cons: The owners live onsite and a bit intrusive. Breakfast although included was basic. Dinner can be provided but no choice, you get whatever you're given and, in my case, fixed price regardless if I had a full or reduced menu.  Also no idea of the price of it until check out. My wife got shouted at across the room at breakfast for having food in the room which, apparently, attracted their dogs??? The poor dog got chased by the owner with a broom whilst being shouted at on a few occasions which made it very uncomfortable for us. We were there for 12 nights and was dreading going back at the end of the day, even stopped attending breakfast after 3rd day.It's not appreciated if evening meal it's not had onsite. Expect being asked why not, every time you miss it.On check in we got told that we should be careful with water and electricity usage. He even came and set up the AC at 25C. Not easy changing it either.

OK for a short stay

It was a long time ago that coming to the magnificent Puglia I wanted to stay with my husband in a Masseria, here we found the warmth of a family with Giulia and Ferdinando and a simple cuisine of the very well-groomed tradition of his son Matteo. We made friends with the other customers, because that is what their management brings you.

A pleasant discovery

The owners are very pleasant people, attentive but not entrant, available and sincerely interested in making the stay pleasant for the guests, being intelligent and educated people who know how to manage the structure best. The farmhouse is beautiful, well restored, with great taste and decoration, essential and elegant in every piece of furniture and really pleasant. We stayed a week and it was really nice to come away, the rooms are supercomfortable, the bed is supercomfortable, the room is excellent and the space is handled with simplicity and wisdom. We had to work remotely in a video conference and it was possible to do without any problem, because the connection is excellent, both in the farmhouse, even during the day, because expressing the best quality of the food on the premises is a very nice and fresh relationship.

A very pleasant stay

Given that our stay lasted 14 days, we really enjoyed everything! The structure is really great! within the Puglian countryside, the owners Giulia, Ferdinando and his son Matteo, have been able to create a fantastic place and have been able to enhance this old farmhouse with taste and a great respect for the history of their casa.

Thanks to the warmth and availability of Giulia,Ferdinando and Matteo here we feel at home and in the family.On our return from the sea day we always found a clean room and a tasty and genuine dinner every evening, prepared with products from their garden and in excellent quantity.

An Unforgettable Holiday

This masseria is family-run, meaning it's extremely local and low-key, which is exactly what we wanted. This also means they pay extra attention to cleanliness, quality and service. Ferdinando and Giulia are wonderful hosts who fill you up with stories and suggestions of must-do's and must-see's. You can really see that they care about getting to know you and making sure you not only have a comfortable stay (one salient example: they ensure the AC fans are pointed away from the beds before you arrive so you can sleep without freezing or getting sick) but also make the most of it.

The breakfast (which is sweet, not savory) is simple and absolutely delicious. All of it is baked by Giulia herself. Make sure to try her famous, handmade pasticciotto! It's really one of a kind. What we loved most about the breakfast was the company of the hosts and the many laughs that we shared. Also Hugo, their very aged dog, who sits beside you waiting for some breadcrumbs and caresses. He is the guardian of the lot, and one of the first in the masseria family to welcome you in the morning.

The rooms (with parking just outside) are clean, spacious and disinfected every day to counter the covid pandemic. They are essential, private and have some nice, well-kept patio spaces. The family is also very conscientious about saving energy; they make sure to encourage their guests to adopt green, sustainable practices when it comes to the various services in their rooms such as AC, water and lights. Furthermore, the shared courtyard is grand. With all of its various plants and rustic decorations, it resembles a wild, secret garden. It basically is and feels like your home away from home. They have a restaurant service too, offering dinner with local produce cooked by Matteo, their chef and son.

The location of the masseria is also very strategic, close to a highway and (about 20 to 30 mins away from) so many key attractions, towns, bays and beaches. (Note: our car GPS led us into town instead of the masseria itself, which is just outside in the country-side. Use Google Maps instead).

We'll be sure to pass by again when we're in the area.

I, my companion and our dog Nina were guests of the Masseria Lacco last October. Our experience was fully positive both for the beauty of the place and for the kindness and availability of the owners, Giulia and Ferdinando, who made us feel at home right away. The Masseria retains an authentic and elegant simplicity spirit. Our room, always very clean, was very spacious and very well organized - with air conditioning, winter heating, refrigerator-bar. We also immensely appreciated the kitchen of Matteo, the son of the best owners, who made us appreciate the flavors of the kitchen, with fresh local products and know each day and rediscover the simple and elegant holidays of a year.

This was our second year at the Lacco farmhouse... what can I say? Everything is perfect. The care and cleanliness of the rooms, the quality and goodness of the food, the courtesy of Ferdinando, Giulia, Matteo and their collaborators all set in a typical farmhouse very well maintained and located in a wonderful place.

How to Get Home

The missed opportunity is not to visit this Masseria! We spent a week with a penny and a half, right after the lockdown to cleanse our minds from the complicated period..and it was a cure for the soul. Giulia and Ferdinando take care of the customers as if they were familiar: local food prepared by their son Matteo with a sought after touch (all the genuine flavors of Salento, most produced by them in a biological way. Portions not too abundant so that you can enjoy the whole route' antipasto to the cafe), careful daily cleaning of the rooms (sanitization well above the standards required by the situation Covid) and premeditation without sacrificing the advice.
