Dear Mother Nature, 

Thank you for showing us the sign to this pub on the road whilst we drove back tired and hungry to Killarney on this Sunday evening when everything else was almost shut. Enjoyed the chicken broccoli tagliatelle. The staff were very polite, the service was quick food was scrumptious and the money wasn't too dearly. 

I hope another passer by reads my review and enjoys a decent meal here someday.

Good food, polite staff, humongous quantities

So enjoyed our meal here recently, prices are so reasonable. I had duck & it was delicious, full half duck with all the extras. Hubby had steak, great portion & again delicious. They have a children's menu but mine prefer potatoes & veg to chips... not a problem & no extra charge for the veg. I'm always charged more which really annoys me with children's menus so this greatly appreciated. The staff are all really lovely & friendly & treat you just like they treat the locals around you. Highly recommend this place for great food & get a taste of west cork hospitality at its best. 

Fabulous food at great prices

For our last night in SW Ireland we stayed at the Bridge Bar, Pearson's Bridge. We left the N71 at Ballylickey and turned NE up the R584.  Parking is in the pub car park. The room had most things we needed including an en-suite and although our room overlooked the road it was relatively quiet until the working traffic in the morning, so we had a good nights sleep.
We took an evening meal in the bar which had excellent beef in copious quantities.  We enjoyed a full breakfast in the morning before our long journey to Rosslare. 
Staff were friendly.

Comfortable night's stay

As with anywhere this place has its positives and negatives so I'll mention them all to be fair to them, in response to an earlier post this is in no way a 5 star hotel so please don't be misled! It is however ok for a night whilst traveling around. I'm not sure I'd use it as a base for longer due to remote location. If you like being based in a bar this may be for you. 

Positives 
The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful.
The room was a good size.
The room was clean and bed comfy.
There were plenty of toiletries and the hand lotion and free sweets were lovely!
It was popular in the evenings with the locals for food as well as drinks and there is an extensive menu to choose from. 
Garden was nice in the sunshine. 
  
Negatives
The breakfast whilst substantial cooked options didn't have what we had come to expect as standard on this trip for similar priced places, i.e. Fresh brown bread, yogurt and fruit etc as well as cooked. 
Its a pub so it can be fairly noisy when trying to get to sleep.
The light pull cord in the bathroom was very dirty (a pet hate and easy to change)
The wifi was only available in the bar and we didn't find it worked very well.
We Couldn't keep the window open due to noise and smoke coming in. 



Friendly place but rather remote 

Recently went to this little bar between ballylickey and kealkil. The food was below par, not fresh and could easily have been cheap frozen food from the supermarket. It was a lovely sunny day and the beer garden was a lovely place to be. The worst thing about it and the reason we defiantly wouldn't go back, even though the food was reason enough was a Middle Aged member of staff. She started work in the evening, the other staff had actually been lovely which was the worst thing. This arrogant women is the exact kind of person you would never want waiting on your tables, although her arrogance seemed almost unbelievable, this women probably considers a spin to Kerry a holiday. Hopefully she will be gone soon so this place can start trying to make a name for itself again rather than just being a farmer pub with overdone, bland boring food
