Glenmore House

We loved staying at Elmore House. Such a lovely old home with lots of traditional style.
Regina our host was very welcoming there and supportive and gave us a lift to the bike hire place and was very interested in our trip. She also took us to the hotel in Mullingar for dinner.

Thank you Regina for being so accommodating. Great service. Regina could not have been warmer and more welcoming. From the first phone call she completely looked after us. Would highly recommend Glenmore House.  

A very nice old mansion in a park, not too far from the city and in a really quiet location. A bathroom as big as our bedroom at home, and lots of 1960 elements in the bedroom. A friendly hostess and a good (cold) breakfast. Good Wifi reception. At the time we were there, the cashless payment did not work.

Our host was wonderful. We were well looked after but also pur host went above and beyond. There was a storm the morning we were leaving and we had left our car at the wedding venue. Our host drove us to get our car. So very nice and apprecoated. Our Breakfast was tasty and in a beautiful breakfast room. Our bed was very rhetro looking and incresibily comfortable and a really good shower. The house is steeped in charm and history. It feels like you are in a countryside haven and yet it is really a short ealk into town or a very cheap taxi I'm sure. This stay exceeded all expectations. Top notch hospitality!!.

Best B&B during my entire stay. Regina is the most gracious caring hostess I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. From the moment my young son and I arrived she made us feel as though we were family. The House is amazing and is beautifully decorated with antique furniture and classy touches everywhere. 

To the people who reviewed this B&B fair, they obviously could not see the beauty in such an amazing house, setting and location. It's not every day you get to stay in a house this beautiful and over 150+ years old. The room did get a little chilly, but this is normal due to the plate glass windows. There is heat and more than enough blankets in each room so it didn't bother us at all. 

If you are looking for modern boring run of the mill place, maybe this is not for you. The elegance of the house, gracious hostess, and the food is why I give this B&B 5 stars. 

Lets talk about the breakfast.....Regina hands down makes the best Irish breakfast, she even out did many restaurants in my opinion. 

When I come back to Ireland I will be staying here again as I felt like I was staying with family. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Regina was the best host that I stayed with while traveling in Ireland. Not only did she warmly receive us, but she also cooked us an award-winning Irish breakfast in the morning! The house and grounds are beautiful, and she gave my friend and I tips on where to go in Mullingar. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay! :) 

Very pleasant one night stay at this Bed and Breakfast. Lovely Georgian House in beautiful grounds.Proprietor Regina lovely very friendly and breakfast delicious.Regina's son Joe gave us a lift to our family party which was  a good distance away,this was so kind of him and he clearly went out of his way. We throughly enjoyed our stay made perfect by the friendliness of Regina and her son Joseph.

I stayed here in July we a friend and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is certainly "Grand " looking for the outside but its starting to show its age inside and certain aspects of the hotel need addressing. That aside we had a lovely time here. We only stayed one night and throughout our experience of b and bs on our Ireland trip, this was one of the best.
When we arrived we met the host (Regina) who was lovely. I chose the best room, which looked out onto the well manicured front lawn. Inside tea and coffee facilities were available, but bizarrely once the kettle boiled, you had to unplug the kettle to pour as the lead was that short and the plug was situated at the back of the dressing table, but hey ho.
My room had ensuite which had a  another door to the hall for others to use but you could bolt both the doors for privacy. The bathroom had a 50s 60s style to it with His and her basins , sadly one of these was cracked, so I didn't use this one. It also had a bidet fitted which I haven't seen for a long time. It had a modern shower fitted and plenty of towels to dry oneself.
 We were made to feel very welcome and given advice on where to dine and where to sample the best pint of Guinness, we were even driven into town by Regina, which was a very nice touch.
Breakfast simply consisted of cereal with fruit and eggs bacon and sausage, with toast.

Overall the hotel is an eclectic mix of bygone styles and this to me, held its charm, and I was fascinated with the history of the house and the family which was told through the hundreds of framed photographs that adorned the walls.
Would I stay again....defiantly

Of all the bed and breakfasts l have stayed in whilst in Ireland  and l have stayed in quite a few , an included breakfast is always a fully cooked one. 
Not here. It was fruit cereal and toast. 
We had to stop a couple of hours later to eat as we were starving !!!

Disappointed!!

booked online last min and had we seen the reviews first we may not have done so.
we arrived and were shown to the room by a lady who was not the owner.
she mentioned the heating was coming on but the room was freezing.
she mentioned an ensuit bathroom but it had a door leading to the hall that could be entered by anyone meaning anyone could come into your room.
the bathroom was crammed full of towels and general stuff was to over crowded and just untidy.
the bed was super comfortable and sheets duvet were soft and snug.
there was a blanket on the end of the bed that needs to go in the bin.
breakfast was the worst part.
just one big oval table meaning you sat with strangers all shared the same butter milk suger etc...the minute glass of juice and no extra seems like cheap to be honest.
no standard ceral like corn flakes just granola.There was also no fruit or pastrys or yougarts.
it was the bare minimum.
while we slept great and the silence is amazing here its just not for us.. a little grubby and over packed with things not needed. it needs a serious declutter and clean and the dining needs alot of work.
