Had the pleasure of staying just one night in this lovely old farmhouse. We were let down last minute by another property in Athy, but Mary took us in and looked after us so well. Fabulous house in amazing surroundings, lovely comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean and a good hearthy home cooked breakfast. Thank you again Mary, and I would have no hesitation in recommending your beautiful home to others.

Nestled in the beautiful Kildare countryside this home is full of history and character. Mary & Raymond are so welcoming and happy to give the history and story of the house. The stonework, buildings and grounds are stunning. We could only stayed for one night and slept sound in a beautiful, comfortable room. We enjoyed a delicious full irish breakfast before we headed off. True Irish hospitality done right. This home is not far from the motorway, Kildare village and is a great location. We highly recommend and will stay longer next time we are back!

Earlier this year, I stayed prior to the garden being in full bloom, so I had to go back whilst working in the area. I don't know which I love more, staying in a historical country Manor, the peace and tranquillity of the gardens, the host's who offer a warm and welcoming stay, or the WII museum or the amazing food. So much to say!

It's definitely a gem.

The beds were sooooo comfortable one would not want to get up :) 
My only complaint was my 1 night stay was wayyyy to short / will defo b back!!! Cead Mile Failte at its best ☘️ Mary was so nice especially accommodating me n my elderly mum on a late arrival n to b met with such a warm welcome / 💕 amazing breakfast too n home baking Devine! A real home from home experience /Mary n Raymond thank u soo much again n Gold Star all round 🌟

Just back from a 3 night stay with Mary and Raymond at Moate Lodge for the Ploughing Championships. Set in a beautiful location, we had a family room which was very spacious and comfortable. Full irish breakfast was beautiful and both Raymond and Mary always had time for a chat.. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with them.

A wonderful period farmhouse in the middle of Irish Countryside.  Mary and Raymond are great hosts and did everything to make our stay comfortable.  Our room was very spacious and we had been upgraded as we were staying 6 nights..a kind act.  If you are looking for a period house rather than a modern hotel, then try Moate Lodge.

Had a lovely stay at Moate Lodge, Raymond & Mary have a beautiful country home so full of history. A lovely couple working together doing a great Job! Could show a lot of 4 star hotels good old Irish hospitality at its best.

It all started by the lovely warm welcome we received at the front door by Mary and Raymond .
We have been touring Ireland for the last two weeks and the welcome and hospitality we received was second to none.
Form the cleanliness and warmth of this extremely well maintained 18th century house and gardens, to the fabulous full Irish breakfast and home baked scones it all made for a wonderful stay. We have no hesitation in recommending this lovely 18th century country house to anybody who is thinking of booking accommodation in the area.

I felt so warmly welcome in all my 5 days throughout my stay in Moate Lodge. Mary made always sure to ask me if I needed anything else than previously provided. The place exhales history from the moment you arrive! The house itself dates from the 18th century and when I started walking in the beautiful countryside of Kildare (gorgeous weather along my whole stay) alongside Moate Lodge, was a wonderful experience, making it difficult to just describe with words. 
Raymond (Mary's husband) has a cinema inside the house (yeah, that's right!), and what a gentleman he is! Asked me which film from his collection I would like to watch... Wow! I decided to pick one which I've never watched, and how good it was. Simply amazing! Thank you very much both of you, Mary and Raymond for the lovely stay, far the best one in my days in Ireland.
