A long semi hilly driveway takes you to hotel Jammu Ashok. Once ITDC Ashoka group hotels ruled the hotel scene in the country. At that time, economy hadn't opened. After opening of Indian economy many hotel groups emerged and Ashoka group lost its prominence. Old spacious buildings still stand and run by most courteous staff but less occupation doesn't generate enough funds for renovation. Hotel Jammu Ashok has a beautiful building that needs immediate renovation to restore old Glory. Staff is extremely courteous, rates are very reasonable, rooms are really good and recently renovated. It's courteous lady manager ensured that we had no problems during our stay and paid personal attention. Would like to stay there again.
