Mansarovar homestay 

The Manasarover Homestay, Kalimpong is truly cosy and comfortable and the Gurung family go out of their way to make their guests comfortable. 
Located in a quiet neighborhood called Chandraloke Village (about a 8-10 mins drive from the main market area), the quaint homestay is a green paradise. Mr Gurung is passionate about gardening and  his love has turned the home into a green paradise.
The rooms are comfortable and have good quality mattresses and duvets which ensure a good sleep. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained.
Our room was attached to a common balcony area which had a small dining table and a seating arrangement.
The Gurung ladies have a magic touch  and all of them are amazing cooks. Mrs Gurung had rustled up authentic Nepali delicacies as well her special soup whilst Tina and her sister in law made some delicious momos, millet pancakes, egg masala, aloo paratha etc.
The homestay also houses a small but interesting collection of books and they will soon be adding a room or two in the third floor which will have a great view. We also got to know a lot about Kalimpong and its history from Mr Gurung .
All in all a wonderful , peaceful stay at the Manasarover Homestay 


A cosy & comfortable home away from home

Simply the best homestay I have experienced. Very comfortable and beautiful house with all amenities available, and the Gurung family are lovely people! Mr. Gurung accompanied us to Neora Valley National park & Changey falls, and shared interesting bits of info throughout the trip. Their son Sandeep took us around the Kalimpong market, while Mrs. Gurung & their daughter Tina cooked us sumptuous breakfast and dinner. We had wonderful conversations with the entire family, it almost felt like we are a part of the household. We also purchased some tasty homemade pickles from Mrs.Gurung. Excellent comfort, delicious food, amazing hospitality and lots of love. Thank You Gurung family! I would love to visit again :)

Best homestay I hv experienced!

A family oriented vibe and a lovely experience to stay at The Gurung's Home! Experience their culture, food and hospitality.A very personal touch to this place compared to others and one will definitely feel comfort at a home level with Mrs. Gurung and Mr. Gurung who takes you on a personal tour of his favourite destinations around.Not to forget Sandeep who keeps everything working smooth and makes sure youre having the best time!!!

A Haven Nestled in Hills of the Himalaya's!

Uncle, aunty and Sandeep are amazing hosts ....they have a cosy home which is a little away from the main area of Kalimpong...but what a location...surrounded by the golf course, army area, Lady Morgan's House, and many other places ...this is a hidden gem...uncle, aunty and Sandeep care for their guests as their own family and make you feel right at home...right from taking so much time and effort to prepare your meals, to going for long walks in and around the area, to admiring all the little knick-knacks that they have made...they also have a lovely garden where they also grow their own herbs...they have very cosy rooms with lovely balconies and sit-outs...they also have two cute kittens and a puppy ...one of the best places I have stayed in, in a very long time ...do chat with uncle to listen to his amaZing life and his contributions to society ....a very humble and spiritual family who go out of their way to make you feel at ease and at home ...truly a humbling and a great experience!!!

The hosts are wonderful people, they will ensure a comfortable stay. They have ensured that their humble abode takes care of the tiniest details.

Excellent Hospitality

The experience is the 'people' — Gurung uncle, aunty and Sandeep. They're extremely accommodating. Always eager to show you the unseen Kalimpong, feed you the best local food and share great stories. Genuine hospitality is something we experienced. It was a pleasure being around them. The rest — rooms are clean, comfy. Not over the top. The location is a bit away from the town which makes it a different experience. Lots of small hamlets to explore. Short hikes. Highly recommend having breakfast, lunch, dinner at home. You are onto something Gurung family! :)

Feels like Home

we stayed here for 2 nights , room was good with a balcony. This is Privately owned homestay . Owner and his family are great ! Food was good , not so expensive. They showed us their garden with all kinds of plantation.We used owner's service for  local site seeing and he has Ertiga Car which is bigger and was suitable for our family. He knows  a lot about site seeing places so you can say he acts as a guide as well. TV was  not there in our room but we did not feel need of it.

Home away from home !

This is a privately owned/run homestay by a very gentle family. The hospitality of the family is awesome. Tina, the lady will always try to make your stay comfortable. 

How to reach?
It is situated about 5/6 kilometers uphill from the main marketplace in Kalimpong. You can take a shuttle cab to drop you at the home-stay. (Per person cost : Rs20/- for Drop at Homstay and Rs10/- for drop at Kalimpong Bazar). The road via Elgin group of Hotels to SIB Chandralok will take you to this place.

Rooms and Views?
There's a large veranda in the first floor with nice seating arrangements, beautiful decor and fascinating and clear view. We got one room just adjacent to it and another room to the left of staircase (that also had a small balcony).
All the rooms are beautifully decorated with not so expensive items but with nice aesthetic and artistic things which identifies the choices of Tina and her family. 

Food?
They will also provide you complimentary Breakfast. They can serve good lunch and dinner but with limited options.

An unexplored Gem in Kalimpong

For someone who's used to using Airbnb and staying in hotels across the world. I found this place extremely comfortable for any kind of traveller. I was staying with my family and we had a really good experience. The hosts are genuinely good and helpful people. I think with them I relearned the definition of being a host. It's a clean place very warm and cosy just like home. Super toilets and amenities. We have also seen some amazing places thanks to our host. I would recommend this place to everyone coming to kalingpong.
