Einarsstadir Homestay

The house where Vik all began, Owned by a lovely Irish fella named Steve who is an outstanding host full of stories and jokes, with a heart of gold, if you listen long enough you may even learn a thing or two! He even made lunch for us and offered beer and wine! We got stuck in Vik due to stormy weather spent one night in a horrendous place at the bottom of the hill before relocating to this gem, Steve allowed us to check in early because of the weather and made us feel instantly at home, we sat many an hour listening to his tales and joking around, gave advice on the best places to eat, drove us to the shop in the 70km wind and rain, I could go on and and on about what a fantastic host he was, but I digress! The house itself is a lovely quaint little house with a whole lot of history, a few minutes walk from the black sand beach and local amenities , 5 sizeable bedrooms with 2 shared bathrooms, all your kitchen facilities and a laundry room, though this was not originally on our trip plan it turned out to be our favorite place and most comfortable sleep, coffee and tea available, femenin products and even free ear plugs! The house has lots of nice little touches, pictures with meaning, animal pelts and shelves full of books. Rjupa the very friendly husky often stays here, if you leave her alone, she leaves you alone, but she loves attention and if you ask nicely you can even take her on a walk I cannot recommend this place enough, if you're staying in vik, this is for sure the place you should stay! Just what we needed when Icelands horrizontal rain and snow struck!
