This is the perfect place to stay during a visit to Eger! My wife and a friend booked two rooms here on a visit to to see Eger's historic castle and the surrounding wine country. The hotel is centrally located--about a 5-10 minute walk to the main square.

The rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated, had strong, quiet air conditioning, and comfortable beds. Our rooms also had very large tubs for a relaxing bath and showers. There were nice amenities, coffee machines in the room and in the lobby. The hotel was quiet (no loud noises at night). The hotel also had a lovely interior courtyard/garden that was a great place to relax or have breakfast. My wife and her friend both booked massages through the hotel and loved the massages.

The hospitality, however, really put the stay over the top. The hostess was super friendly when we checked in, gave us some great recommendations about things to do around Eger, let us check in early because our room was open (and check out late). And, really going above and beyond, her husband gave us a ride to the train station because all the cabs were booked!

I would stay here again when visiting Eger and recommend it to anyone visiting!

Lovely hotel and amazing hospitality!

My wife surprised me with a stay here for my Birthday and it was an absolutely stellar experience. We have 3 dogs and love to travel with them. Not only was Margareta super Dog friendly, but upon our arrival our 3 little sweethearts were showered with affection by the lovely Team, which is a family run business and you could feel the pride they take in running a great business right from the moment you arrive.

Not only was everyone super friendly and knowledgeable about everything there is to do in Eger or anything we might need but they really made you feel like you are part of the family.

The design of the panzio was immaculate with fine attention to details in the rooms, the common spaces, beautiful garden and luxurious private spa, and super clean. Just perfect.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious as well with tasty variety for everyone. It also turned out that i shared the same Birthday with the owner and we all toasted with my wife and the team for a memorable champagne breakfast.

We will be back without a doubt and highly recommended for couples and those who have furry family members it was an absolute stellar stay for them too!

The Perfect Birthday Getaway

Nagyon helyes kis panzió rendkívül kedves személyzettel és fantasztikus büféreggelivel.

A truly wonderful little place with exceptionally nice and helpful staff, and the fantastic buffet breakfast. The old town of Eger is roughly 5-6 minutes by walk.

Nagyszerű, hangulatos kis szállás. Mindenképp ajánlom / A wonderful, charming place. I definietely recommend it.

We've spent a night in this cosy little pansion. The location is excellent, the rooms were spacious and clean. As it was recently renovated, the overall design was fresh and stylish. There is a little wellness with a Jacuzzi and a sauna. The old City is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel, which is located in a calm neighborhood. I definitely recommend it!  

Excellent place

We spent here 3 nights with our dog - labrador. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, room was on the ground floor, door opening into the garden. Our dog like it 😊 Localization is very good and close to the historical center (5 min walk). Personal was especially friendly and helpful, also like pets. Price was very good for this quality. Everything was ok, we can only recommend this place. 

Very nice petfriendly accomodation in historical center

I stayed over at this lovely guest house in the centre of Eger. It was winter and rather cold, but the city is just as mesmerizing as in summer, spring or autumn. The location of the guest house is perfect and everybody is very welcoming! The room was lovely.
Eger is a great town and I also recommend Stühmer chocolates on Széchenyi utca - old-fashioned shop & a must-see - and Depresso coffee bar on the main square!

Close to centre

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights while backpacking through Hungary. We found the place on tripadvisor after every hostel and hotel we called was booked.

They are about 3 minutes walk from Dobos Square and very close to a Spar if you’d prefer to purchase some snacks.

Super friendly, family run, extremely accommodating and everything with a smile (a rare find in Hungary).

We’d recommend this place to friends anytime! Keep up the great work!

A hidden gem 

Great place! Everything that you need is here! Perfect rooms with bathroom, fridge,   very comfortable bed. Room is clean, has everything we need. Location: 3 minutes from center of the city, so do not hesitate to book your room in Margereta Vendeghaz!
