Beautiful location and the hotel’s grounds are lovely and spotlessly clean. 
The staff are friendly and the rooms comfortable. We had a Junior suite and would recommend.

Ithaca is a wonderful place and we enjoyed every moment.

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Ithaca at the Captain Yiannis Hotel in Vathy. We had a fabulous time and the hotel was perfect for us. All of the staff were so helpful and the facilities at the hotel were great. A lovely room, simple but adequate breakfast each day by the pool with lovely views of all the boats in the harbour and a short walk from the centre of Vathy which had a great selection of restaurants and shops. Such a peaceful and unspoilt place to visit and our Aegean and Iolian holiday rep. was lovely also. If you have the chance to try somewhere different then we would recommend you go. We will certainly visit again.

I am staying here for 2 weeks and am at the end of my 1st week. What an amazing spot. Lovely location on outskirts of Vathy but easy walk into Vathy. Great view of harbour and surrounding hills. Well appointed room, very comfortable and housekeeping come very regularly. Nice pool. Breakfasts are simple but with really nice fresh fruit and yogurt- all I needed. Staff here are great - very welcoming and have been friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

Super holiday here.  It is a quick taxi ride from the port.  Ten minute walk to Vathi where you will find lots of tavernas and bars and shops and all that the harbour offers.  The staff here are super friendly and helpful.  We stayed in an apartment (looks like a bungalow) which was spacious and clean with all you need.  Also a very comfy bed, safe and modern bathroom.  We had a lovely veranda at the front with views to the entrance to the harbour - great for a drink before heading off for dinner!  There is also a drying rack positioned by the back door and gets the evening sun.  The breakfast is buffet style,  it is all well presented and covered, and the breakfast tables have a really fabulous view!  The pool area is very nice, comfy sun beds and clean pool - again with great views.  There is a bar open serving drinks and a few snacks too.  There is a very good taverna just a short walk along the waters edge if you turn right out of the hotel, also a couple of bars too.  
Great beaches are a car ride/taxi €10 ride away.  Plenty to explore on the island.  Great location and we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff.

Part of our fantastic stay at Captain Yiannis was due to the fantastic help and communication from Stefanos at the hotel before we travelled.
The hotel itself is only a 7 minute walk from the port, but has the advantage of being so close to the incredible, tranquil Loutsa Beach..
En route to the beach we often stopped at the nearby (400metres) waterside tavern to enjoy a drink and snack. Also nearby is the incredible Tsibiris restaurant where we ate by the water's edge on three of our seven nights... it was fabulous.
Back in the hotel, the staff make everyone feel welcomed, and we were lucky to enjoy one of the few Ithaca hotels with a pool....so relaxing.
The final memory to describe  is the wonderful view each morning as we opened the shutters to look across the bay to the meandering waters, the hills and the boats moored near the port.  

We didn't stay with Captain Yiannis - but had to cancel a booking 2 weeks before for health reasons. Stefanos was very understanding and didn't charge us the deposit. We then found we were able to go and so rebooked, but managed to arrive at (Little) Vathi on Meganisi rather than Vathi on Ithaca, with no way of getting to Captain Yiannis by ferry.  Again, Stefanos was very understanding. His attitude speaks volumes about what the service is likely to be like at Captain Yiannis when staying there!

Just spent a week at the Captain Yiannis in a Junior Suite.
Very well appointed room, clean and a very comfortable bed. Looked like it had been totally refurbished in recent years. Superb views across the bay. Situated in a quiet area and about a ten minute flat walk into Vathi. Breakfast fairly basic, but ample. The pool is a bonus as not many places have them on Ithaca . Definitely recommended. There is a beach within walking distance. The staff very helpful.

My wife and I travelled to the beautiful island of Ithaca and stayed at the Captain Yiannis Hotel for my daughters wedding. 
The wedding took place at the quaint chapel within the grounds of the hotel. 
Katrina and Stefanos were fantastic in making it an unbelievable occasion along with the caterers, Florists etc. Our room had a very large balcony with lovely views. The room was roomy and comfortable and the hotel is in a wonderful location. After the wedding we had a very relaxing holiday. 
In fact the 12 nights we spent at the Captain Yiannis were almost perfect!
If you fancy staying in Ithaca then I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Fantastic location, we were in a junior suite reasonable room with little terrace and fab view. Comfy bed but few things could be improved. Not enough storage very small wardrobe and two small drawers (we were staying a week) so couldn’t unpack everything. No mirror apart from bathroom. Kitchenette and fridge great but no tea towel or washing up liquid. Lovely pool but had to rent pool towel’s for the week,  never had that in a hotel before. We hadn’t opted for buffet breakfast which we were glad about as other guest’s comments were not favourable which is a shame. Pool snacks stop at 1.20pm which is rather silly,  so consequently didn’t seem to get used and service wasn’t particularly friendly. However, Reception staff were very helpful and sorted out any issues very quickly. A few improvements could easily bring it up to five stars.

Beautiful location, lovely pool area and good size of pool, very pretty.  The staff are very friendly and helpful.  Nice selection at breakfast.  Well worth hiring a boat, book it when your there as you may get a better deal.  It's very pretty and very quite, evenings are eating and drinking, not much/any dancing which we missed.  You just gotta love Greece!!
