Very peaceful and comfortable stay for a long trip to Skiathos. It’s a bit expensive, but it is worth the money. You should definitely check it out if you have in mind to enjoy stunning restaurants, bars and clubs in Skiathos Town, and most of them are right next to this accommodation.

We stayed for a week and we had excellent experience. Very friendly staff, really clean rooms with nice design. just  five minutes from the bus stop and the port. The hotel has private parking area close to the building.

My visit to this blissful island became more memorable by the influence of the outstanding service at this hotel. The owner provided infinite assistance at this wonderful accommodation. The rooms are very well maintained, centrally located, walking distance to all the highlights and necessities without caos.

This hotel is a bit dated in appearance and style but makes up for it with simple, well decorated and function rooms. We had a little verandah with a small washing line. You get a little sink area with fridge, air conditioning that works, and a shower! (no shower curtain (of course) and no hook to hang the shower head on while you shower. (just need to improvise, its greece afterall!). Owner is lovely and very helpful, cleaning is first class, clean towels every day! I would come back, its a nice quiet location just off main street so a 5 min flat walk to the port area. For a cheap hotel this is good, and worthy of 5*'s given its only a one star hotel. (if that makes sense!)

Hotel Australia is a 1 star hotel which proves that stars are not relevant any more. the hotel is clean the staff is friendly and extremely accomodating. it is in the heart of the of the city and I highly reccomend it!!! excellent value for money.

Hotel Australia is a no frills hotel with a great location in Skiathos Town, a very short walk to all of the taverns, bars, shops, and about a five minute walk to the port, where you can catch ferries, buses, and water taxis to beaches and other islands like Skopelos and Alonissos. 

I stayed there for 15 days and the room was clean and quiet. I overlooked the back of another building, and didn't hear any of the noise of the crowded Skiathos Town streets at high season. There was a "balcony" but it was extremely small, basically just a place to stand.

The owner (sorry I've forgotten his name!) is a super friendly guy who speaks excellent English. He's always there (I believe he lives there) so any problems you can speak to him day or night.

The bed was very hard, to the point where sometimes if I turned over, it actually hurt. But after about a week, I got used to this. The cleaning women come every single day and do a good job. The bathroom lighting is very dim. My big issue was that I could never get hot water in the morning, so I took showers at night. I never complained about this because I already felt bad that I'd complained about the Wifi so many times. Despite the owner "fixing" it several times, it still never really worked, though oddly, it worked well the first week, and often worked early in the morning, so I think as more tourists came in, the modem got overloaded or something. At any rate, if you definitely need reliable Wifi, this isn't the place for it.

The walls were thin and at one point I heard the guy in the room next to me talking and also going to the bathroom, but oddly only for one night.

It's not the cheapest place in the world for what you get, but Skiathos in high season isn't that cheap. I might stay again because it did have the most important thing to me - a great location, and it was quiet. Also, the owner is just the friendliest guy.

The hotel is near the city center and has all the basics you would expect(clean room, heating etc). There is no breakfast but there are a few shops to stop around. The premises are old and a rennovation would be good, but I picked my rating because of the friendly and extremely welcoming owner.

There was a huge lack of communication during our stay. No one at the hotel when we were trying to check out and pay. It didn’t seem like they were ready for guests, did not feel welcoming. Took a while to get my passport back. Room was fine, got good sleep. Location was right off the main road in the downtown area. Very close to the ferry, so it made it easy to find.
