Great weeks holiday staying at this lovely hotel/ complex. Rooms spotless & cleaned daily. Fantastic, friendly owners. Manos & Costa are great guys. Good weather too. Already recommended ‘Real Palace ‘ to friends & family. On departure Manos shook hands/ complimented my family & gave us Mars bars for our flight home( a lovely gesture). The beauty of Greece & it’s people never fail to impress me.

Oct/Nov-half term

Had a very good holiday. Room basic but clean and tidy. Pool, grounds and bar area exceptionally well kept. Staff really friendly and helpful. Short walk to old town with a good choice of restaurants. Slightly longer walk to the strip if you want a more lively night. 
Would have given it a five rating but a little issue is groups of young people, staying at the apartments, did spoil a couple of nights with loud music, bad language and loud behaviour. This did not seem to be addressed. If you are thinking of staying with young children this could be a problem. Apart from this it was a good holiday.

August 2019

Just came back from the best clubbing holiday in malia and this hotel was the best we could have wished for. Really friendly staff, make the best cocktails! Also the room was perfect, for a 4 room it was divided into two sections and an en-suite wet room. walk to malia strip 15-20 mins but the time passed quick. Food was lush, though do big portions so ask for a small size. On entry we had to pay for city tax, and we paid extra for aircon but didn’t bother for a safe (we had locks on our suitcases). There is a security guard late at night so be wary of that. Pool is bigger than it looks like in the pictures x would recommend ! 

Couldn’t have gotten any better

Stayed at Real Palace again this year in Malia. It's my first choice of hotel, and I've stayed there 6 or so times in the last 5 years. The owners and staff can't do enough for you while you're there, and I've become good friends with them. Prices tend to be competitive too, with the price per night usually amongst the lowest in Malia.

The rooms are clean and well maintained, and I had the maid in every couple of days to change towels, sheets and sweep round etc.

I was self catering, and had several meals at the hotel - couple of main meals (gammon and steak) were lovely, and I also had several snacks on days I didn't go to the beach. Plenty of choice / variety on the menu, and the same with drinks. Large beer was €3.50 and a glass of wine €2.50. You can also get a very good breakfast there for about €4.

As usual I didn't bother with air con or a safe, but these are optional extras you can choose to pay for when you arrive.

The location is on the outskirts of Malia, so it's fairly quiet day and night. For extra night time quietness, I'd recommend a room round the back, as you're further away from the main road. The beach is about 20 - 30 minutes walk away.

Great Family Run Hotel

cold and wet for early april ,but real palace brightens up any holiday blues ,excellent as always, rooms have tv,internet and small kitchenette ,toaster kettle 2 electric ring cooker pot frying pan ,spotlessly clean rooms as normal lovely pool and gardens ,first shop 5 mins away bigger supper market 8 mins and even bigger super market 15 mins by the big church ....car hire if needed as manos .nothing too much trouble this was our 4 visit ...malia beach is a good 25 mins walk but go early morning stay there all day ...sany safe beaches lost of clubs bars ......mainly for younger people 18-40,s but plenty to see on bus to stalis ,kato gouves ,hersonissos and heraklion

another excellent stay,

Manos and Costa the 2 proprietor's are great and so helpful - nothing is too much troubLe and they are always happy to help - the accommodation is clean and tidy and the pool area including sunbeds are cleaned every night- the food is well presented and good value for money - this is our 2nd year at real palace and can't wait to go back next year.

Excellent

We arrived late and was greeted by Manos who was very helpful with the checking in process. he did not pressure us in any way to buy extras, but informed us of what was available should we need it. 
We were taken to our room on the top floor which had a very good view of the gardens and sea.
As the bar was still open we were able to get something to eat even at 1am.
As has been said before the room was spacious, but very basic...and I mean BASIC there was'nt even a small bar of soap on the sink to wash your hands after using the loo, even the cheapest place's I have stayed in have had at least that!!
The kitchen area is large enough, though again not supplied with anytihing except a kettle and portable hot plate to cook on. This is sold as a self catering apartment and in my opinion, as someone who likes to have a bacon buttie on the balcony for breakfast not good enough to be called self catering. There is only a frying pan and one saucepan, not even a toaster! I assume this is to make it as difficult as possible to cater for yourself and then you can eat in the bar/restuarant which sells a good supply of breakfast,lunches etc..but that is not self catering! We did eat in the evening in the bar and I can highly recommend the Stifado and the lamb chops which is cooked by a lovely lady who will appeciate your comments.
This hotel has lots of steepish steps which have to be navigated in order to get anywhere, there are ramps for wheelchairs and buggies but you have to get down two really steep steps in order to get to them, so I would'nt recommend these apartments to anyone who is less mobile.
Never had any problem getting sunbeds around the immaculate pool area which is spacious and well kept. 
Would I return?....Unlikely, though we did enjoy ourselves whilst there,but will find somewhere a bit more open for self catering as this what we like.

Real Palace?

just a quick stop over ,excellent wi-fi and facilites,great swimming pool.very nice ground floor room with small terrace.spotless apartment ,well fitted out kitchenette.great for malia .bus stop 32,this is our second stay,we will come again next year

another great experiance

This is a family run hotel, the customer service is excellent and the staff cannot do enough to help. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

The communal areas are kept very clean. The studio is a good size and also very clean.costas the barman makes the best milkshakes yummy.

Pool is clean but also cold during april but many guests did get in and have a swim. Costas is mad into sports so there is always live sport events on in the bar area.

Food is nice and there is a good selection and available all day at a fair price.

We enjoyed our week and would recommend this hotel.
