Good place for a couple of days or a week. Decent accomodation. If you choose breakfast you get a decent meal în the morning. The owner of the hotel is nice and can give you advices. However there is room for improvement which would definitely help.
Things to improve: insect net in room window against mosquitos and better internet infrastructure.

Good place

During my stay there I liked that all the basic needs were covered and it still was great. The hotel was very near the beach, you had to walk like 20-30m and you were there! :)) The owner was very friendly and offered great advice about where to eat or where to buy things if necessary. The only things that I did not like were the fact the the hotel or at least the room we stayed did not have a mosquito protection of some kind, well it would've been great if it had at least an insect net and also the wifi was kinda crappy, the speed was slow, but this was not it, the thing that bugged me a lot was the fact that I had to sign in the network each time I wanted to search something. Despite these 2 things all was good! 

A cheap but nice hotel to rest while on vacation!

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. The location is perfect, everything is within walking distance. Sea view is amazing. The rooms are basic but are equipped with everything you need. 

The best part about this hotel is George, the hotel manager. He was so friendly to us, I had a few health issues abroad & he kindly escorted me to the doctors on multiple occasions. Another example would be that he has given us fruit that has been freshly picked most mornings. He has really helped us & for that we are truly grateful. 

If you want to go to a hotel where you are looked after, definitely visit this hotel.

Lovely hotel

I recommended this hotel for everybody who wants to spend time in a calm place with friendly people. It is small city where you can try local products, you can osserve how people live, every evening we could find hospitality offered by local people. The owner, Gorgios is like friend, like family member:). People were saying „if you dont know something, just ask Gorgios”.
I miss beach, I miss the test of olives and Raki;)

Chillout in Greece

Smargdine Beach Hotel was an excellent choice for our holiday in Kreta. We had a beutiful beach for some mornings and also a lot of friends around in the bars at night. The owner is very helpful and kind person and we discovered a lot of local specialities in the restaurants and found out places to admire as well next to the beach as more inside of the island too.

An excellent place to be near to a beautiful nature and know Greek people in the bars around

George the manager was brilliant .On arrival on Saturday night he met us in the very quite street and told us to put are bags in our room and took us to a local Greek taverner.On arrival he said what would you like to eat and drink and he wanted to pay.The next morning he met us with a bacon and egg breakfast and a continental one which you could have both .George had got sunbeds ready for us on the beach ,he gave us information about local places and where to catch the bus.Nothing was to much trouble and would highly recommend this very welcoming hotel .You feel more of a friend with George and all of his friends .Thanks George.hopefully see you again soon Neil and Denise our stay was from the 16\04\2016 to 23\04\2016

Very nice place

Our stay at the Smaragdine Beach Hotel was perfect, George the owner really looked after everyone, he was always very pleasant and cheerful, and gave good advise on the best taverns and local interest.
The rooms were delightful and very clean and functional, only 10 metres from the beach....perfect!
Breakfast was all fresh everyday home products with plenty of choice, very good indeed for a continental style.
We would not hesitate in coming back to stay at the Smaragdine Beach Hotel, it really did meat all out needs, this was our first Bed and Breakfast holiday, we always come self-catering.  We were pleasantly surprised and we will be back.

SUPER GEORGE!!

My Daughter and I have just returned from Stalis Crete and we have had a fantastic time. The Smaragdine Hotel is located in the centre of Stalis , it is located on the beach road , and on the other side of this road is the beach with lovely golden sand and which is shallow on approach into the sea with no rocks or anything to hurt your feet .I found the hotel to be clean with the maid attempting to clean the room everyday, only was she unable to do this when we slept late .The towels were changed every couple of days and the bedding once a week. We had no restrictions and we came and went as we pleased coming in after 3am sometimes . The owner George was a really nice guy he took the time to sit and talk with us he even came to the main road to wait with us for our coach transfer .There was always plenty to eat at breakfast, free Wi Fi .The room we had was of a good size with two single beds (very comfy) a built in wardrobe ,dressing table, bedside cabinets and not to forget the all important fridge ,the room also had air conditioning at an extra cost . In my opinion  The Smaragdine is a great place to stay and I would stay there again tomorrow with out hesitation .
