Stayed for one night at eleftheria studios.
The owner even without reservation welcomed us and was happy to show us the studio.
Nice studio with all the basics features.
Had a little balcony on an Olive garden.
Very quiet place and not far from the beach.

Quick quite stay

As we couldnt secure where we were staying for our late flight back home, we booked a room here for €30. Owner was so welcoming and the place had a real home feel to it. Yes it lacks some mod cons but if you want a real Greek place to stay, then this place ticks all the boxes. Oh and it was spotless. Room and bathroom exceptionally clean.

Only one day stay but would recommend

We've just finished our very good 2 week Crete vacations. We used Elefteria apartments as our base there and all three of us (me, wife and daughter) think it was the right choice. It's a kind of family-owned small studious to rent hotel. They are all very friendly, helped us with transfer from Herakleon airport on arrival (for free!), let to stay a half of the day after the check-out time etc. The studios are really small, especially a shower-WC block. But it's usual in Greece. The 'kitchenette' is also very spartan-type thing, but are you really go on vacations for cooking? There are a fridge, a kettle and a small electric stove. Positive features: 1. this is the center of a quiet village, no noise;  2. 50 meters to the nearest sand beach and others are in from 10 to 20 min walking distance (beaches are very clean); 3. 25 min walking to the bus stop on the national road (for trips to Herakleon, Rethymno, Chania etc) or you can use the small bus-"train" circulating round the village. 4. PRICE! 50 euro per day for 3 persons in high season 5. Free Wi-Fi (but it was good working only in some parts of the room, not everywhere). 6. MANY good restaurants of Greek kitchen near. Verdict: suitable for beach-going lovers, who do not spend much time in hotels, or to the explorer-like types, who can visit all Crete either by bus or by car (plenty car-rental agencies near). Or the combination like we are. If you prefere all-inclusive comfort etc, it's not your place.
