We're just spending our holiday in this fantastic accomodation.
Stamatia is a guest very comfortable and very kind. The accomodation is near Katapola port and in the  right position for sighseeing the entire island. We absoloutely suggest this house.

We stayed with the family in Villa I (two rooms). 
Very beautiful rooms. Clean and fresh. We spent breakfast, a glas of wine and relax outside one of the rooms in the nice garden area. 
Not a lot of space. 
Very close to Katapola port, supermarket and restaurants. 

Hotel Villa Katapoliani offers a small restored Sea House just outside the fisher town of Katapola. This house is a very nice and quiet place just on the beach and offers a lot of privacy near an already relaxed fisher town. You have your own sunset and small terrace to enjoy you drink or (home made) meal. In summertime it can be really hot though, but didn't experience this because I travelled in august. The Sea House has one double bed, a small kitchen and annex shower/toilet. The house is quite small but the atmosphere and way it is neatfully restored makes up for the lack of space. Well recommended!

Delightful place, selected at random from Booking.com. Landed from the "Sturdy little ferry" Express Scopelitis (Lonely Planet's description), collected by our landlady who drove us round to the villa and then gave us an overview of the area (with map).
Apartment was well equipped and quirkily decorated, with huge shared balcony  - although no-one else there to share it!
Katapola is a 10min walk away - but driveway from villa up to road is steep (as most places in the Cyclades!) but short.
Loved everything about Amorgos, well marked walking routes, good restaurants - We'll be back.

The room was very nice with excellent decoration and comfort. 
They clean it every day, very clean. 
The location of the apartments is near to the Katapola port and it is easy to go to the Chora of Amorgos 4-5 km. Although it is isolated in a way... 
The wifi it was very good.
The price it is high if you consider that you have not any other services (like breakfast, reception,  shampoo etc) except the room.
The room also need maintenance...

Nice and beautiful 

The Sea House (Villa Katapoliani)

Great little apartment - picturesque

Very good but..

We were keen to be in a quiet location and by the time we booked, this looked to be the best option available for four of us (2 couples), within our budget with the possibility of being able to cook for ourselves. 

The location was very nice and quiet, with a fabulous breezy balcony, within 10 minutes walk of the harbour and some good restaurants. It was very clean, but we felt it needed a bit of updating for the price. 

Firstly, the apartment had too much furniture in it, which became very cramped. The enormous terrace at the front had in contrast, little furniture, and the balcony off one of the bedrooms, none at all. It needed a table and a couple of chairs at least. After we'd carried a table and a couple of chairs through onto this balcony, the terrace then looked quite bare.

A huge bar dominated the living room, in the kitchen area, but which had no use as it was too high to use as a bar, or worktop, and had no storage, while the kitchen area had a sink with a tiny drainage rack (good for a couple of cups) squashed next to a kettle and an electric ring for coffee. You could not really cook anything there, but there was a huge dining table and 6 chairs plus a day bed. We had to ask for glasses as there weren't enough for all of us, nor bowls but about 20 large plates.

One bedroom had air-con and the other just a fan, which I usually prefer, but this was very noisy and I had trouble sleeping. You couldn't open the windows as there was no way to keep the window from slamming shut. We ended up sleeping with the aircon on in the living room and our bedroom door wide open all night to keep cool. Not ideal for privacy.

The bathrooms were really clean, but it is only a hand held shower, not attached to the wall, so you risk wetting the entire room unless you are really careful holding it on one hand and washing with the other. Soggy toilet paper is not nice.

It could be much nicer if a couple of things were tweaked and updated. 

Amorgos was really interesting - we went to visit the Monastery, which was wonderful and we loved the gentleness of the harbour on the opposite side to the port, with pretty restaurants around the water. Cannot remember the name but there is a fabulous fish restaurant with tables right on the water's edge that sold Sea Anemone pasta as a special (I didn't try it but apparently it was very good). We went twice the food was so fresh and tasty. Forget the beaches though, they are disappointing compared to elsewhere in Greece.
