If you find yourself in Germany's Black Forest region, you must visit the wonderful restaurant attached to this hotel. We didn't stay at the hotel but we had a splendid meal at the restaurant on Saturday night. Everything from the starter--tomato salad--to the main course of fish was cooked to perfection. Daniel, the chef who hails from the family which has owned this hotel for generations, has worked at some of Zurich's finest restaurants and it shows in the food he delivered to our table. The sommelier, Benny, certainly knows his craft and plied us with a delightful selection of wines, starting with a superb Muscatel. We were so impressed with the Muscatel that we inquired about buying a bottle--the restaurant sold us one at a very reasonable price! I can't say enough great things about this restaurant--and if the food is any indication of the quality that the family attaches to this hotel, I suspect guests will find the rooms equally appealing.

Amazing Food in Germany's Black Forest

My husband and I stayed at the Posthorn Hotel on a recent trip to the Black Forest for 4 days.  We were looking for a less expensive option than the Zurich priced hotels with possible mt. biking/hiking opportunities.  The hotel is located in a quaint quiet German village less than 50 minutes from the Zurich airport just across the Swiss boarder.  The hotel/restaurant (recently remodeled adding an updated dining area and our hotel room had a large updated shower, seating area, TV with wireless included) is owned and ran by third generation family.  The owners speak English and we were pleasantly surprised by the gourmet dinner and wine selections from the region (very reasonably priced and locally sourced/organic food). Would recommend renting a car and using this as a central location for day trips to various lakes, trails and villages (Lake Constance, Lake Titisee and Tiengen).  If you are a beer lover (like my husband), checkout the regional brewery, Rothaus, for a tour.  

Base Camp to Experience the Black Forest Region

Very good and clean hotel. comfortable beds! Exceptional breakfast. there was no AC in the room, but when we open the windows the fresh air did the job. On the same hand, our friends did not open the windows because they were afraid of the Mosquitoes bites and it was very hot for them 

One night in Germany

We had a lovely few days at this charming family run hotel. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated and the restaurant cozy and welcoming. The surrounding countryside is great for walkers and if you need the city it's less than an hour to Zurich.

Relaxing stay

Me and my partner visited the restaurant at 'Hotel Zum Post's yesterday evening and both really enjoyed our meals (both had three courses) and found the service to be spot on. The food was tasty and well cooked. We would visit again if in the area.
