Set back on a gorgeous orchard property,  off the beaten path. Immaculately clean with all the amenities. Breakfast was simply amazing with a variety of options, meats, cheeses, eggs, cereals, vegetables, homemade jams/jellies etc that changed each morning. Excellent coffee. Stephanie and Egon were extremely welcoming and friendly!! (and spoke excellent English) Our room had a huge porch/balcony overlooking the Orchard! Loved it! We booked 2 rooms to accommodate our 2 teens.

QUAINT, German haus in a rural orchard/vineyard setting!

Stayed 2 nights while in the area, as all hotels in Kandern town were booked out. The guesthouse is about 7 minute drive from Kandern. Our room on the ground floor of the building across from the main house was quite small with a small bathroom and a shower. The owners were extremely friendly (big plus) and even put sandwiches and fruit and eggs for us ready when we had to leave very early in the morning. I thought, however; for the price of the room (Euro 70 per night) it was quite pricey for the area. Also please keep in mind that since it is a guesthouse, you have to pay cash for your stay. The internet was Euro 1 per night, which is fine, but it is only for 1 device and the second day it did not work, though we had paid for 2 days.

Very friendly owners but small room for the price

This was by far the best hotel we stayed in during our month long trip to Europe. It is in a small German village which just adds to the charm. The hosts were very helpful and were fluent in English and I also heard them speak Italian. 

The breakfast was amazing. Freshly made bread, pudding, eggs, wurst, cheese etc etc. Lots of things were homemade like the chocolate spread and marmalade.

The room we stayed in was very modern with a balcony. They provided a baby bed for us.The beds were super comfortable and it was lovely waking up to the sound of the small river at the front of the property. The rooms were cleaned daily and housekeeping staff were very friendly. 

We went to a couple of restaurants in the neighbouring village and it was lovely walking through such a beautiful part of Germany.

Amazing

The hosts are friendly without being intrusive. Everything is homemade even the chocolate spread for breakfast. The beds are comfortable and the rooms spotless and in a really quiet location in the Black Forest a short drive from Basel.
