I had gone to Cochem with my friend in summer for experiencing the wine valley. Booked this place and got a good deal.

We reached in the middle of night and mind you the host does not speak English. We found key to get to lobby but could not find our apartment. The host came in the middle of night and was all smiles with broken German we manage to communicate and she showed us the room.

The place is quite and is good to stay. Though it is bit of walk from the station but if the weather is good it is a nice walk on the river.

The place has good open place and the room we stayed we could sit outside and have morning tea

I will recommend the place.

Amazing host and great hospitality

It was nice place to stay. Spacy room with kichen, balcony and very big bed.

Breakfast was also delicious. Staffs are nice.

It is highly recommended.

The only problem is the way in is very narrow to drive in

What a glorious family run B & B. From the traditional decor to the beautiful gardens, the rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. The warm welcome and charm of this place is something that sets this place apart from others. A must stay if in the Cochem area 5* find 😀👍

Wonderful

The pension is pretty and clean with large rooms.  However as person travelling by train it was inconveniently far from train station.  Since we did a lot of walking and travelling by train, the added mileage reaching the hotel from the train station was too much and we opted for taxis or used the bus which stops very close to the hotel.  For someone travelling without a car I would opt for a hotel in town.

I was kind of hoping this would be better than my expectation but sadly it was worse despite it being very cheap.

I expected this to be a little quirky and old school and it certainly was. It was clean and comfortable but just a little too quirky really for me; things like:

no sink in the bathroom just a shower and toilet, the sink was in the room itself!

No bar area at all more like a B&B than a hotel really

Despite stating WiFi available it was so slow 3G was quicker 

No cereal option at breakfast, just bread, cheese, ham and a boiled egg, I didn't expect a full cooked but no cereals/musli seemed odd 

And the kicker, on check out I am told it is cash only which was a surprise as no mention of it on check in so after three rooms for two nights an early morning trip into town to find a ATM

As others have mentioned no English is spoken but we got by with google translate but this does make the hosts appear a little rude which they certainly are not and I wouldn't let that put anyone off and as long as you really do understand this is a place full of idiosyncrasies then it is ok for the price and well located just out of the centre of Cochem but I wouldn't stay there again

Sadly very Average

Stayed here for one night with my Mum. It was exceptional considering what we paid. Comfortable, clean, extremely friendly hosts (very little English spoken). A real authentic family affair - local hospitality. The breakfast was generous and parking was available. Although it is not in the absolute heart of Cochem, we found the 15-20 min walk to the center of town for dinner extremely pleasant considering the beautiful scenery along the river. A very German experience.
