Smiling Coast is the definition of Ocean Bay hotel and resort. We only met smiles and helpfulness from everybody here. Everybody try their outmost to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. 
Delicious food, clean rooms and good beds. 
Conveniently near the beach and tourist attractions. 
If you want to go on tours the official Tourist Guides are just outside the door. We went on several tours with Ousman Fofana no. +220-2546164 (also on WhatsApp) He is knowledgeable, reliable and a very very good guide. 

We can only recommend this place to all of you who want a taste of Africa when it is best.

We feel so lucky…

This was an amazingly beautiful experience and so pleased we came. 
Most of the staff were absolutely amazing. And shout outs to Sellou and Emmanuel for making sure we were always okay and looked after.  
Id come back again and again and again. The whole team were perfect. (Reception manager/owner was a bit grumpy though) 
Food was great.  Room was great. Grounds are beautiful. Pictures don't do it justice.

It's called the smiling coast for a reason.

We returned to Ocean Bay March 24 for two weeks after many previous visits. Why you may ask....... we love the laid back, fairly quiet atmosphere, the lovely pool, great breakfast and wonderful staff etc etc. We were given one of the updated rooms with new furniture, soft furnishings and a new colour scheme. It looks lovely and fresh, though I'm not sure how long it will last, as it is not as sturdy as the old repainted furniture and sadly makes bathroom look a little tired!  We find the beds comfortable, the pillows were a bit fat, but that was soon remedied by housekeeping. Each time we go improvements have been made. The rooms are clean and tidy and to us simply a place to sleep and shower! If there is a problem make sure it is voiced at the time, to the correct department, and we are sure that every attempt will be made to solve any issues. 

The aircon works well, as does the wifi. The room has a safe, fridge, kettle, tea and coffee for no extra charge.  The gardens are lovely and well maintained. The pool, where we spend most of the day, is great for swimming and exercises. There are plenty of sun loungers poolside and on the beach. Do take advantage of the Spa, we recommend Bintou for a massage, we had 5 or 6 each during our stay, it is very reasonable compared to UK prices.  Most days we share a meal from the lunch menu, then go out in the evening. Calypso is our favourite. I'm not sure why people rave over the Indian, we have tried it a few times and are not impressed! Scala  on the Strip is still a favourite, best to book, reception will be happy to do this for you.

Once again thank you to all the staff, too numerous to mention individually. Thank you Lobbeh and the Guest Relations Team, Reception and Waiting staff. Amadou for looking after the pool so well. The Entertainment Team and not forgetting Housekeeping and Gardeners..........The Ocean Bay staff and sunshine are what make us want to come back time and time again.  

Main tips:- 

Take sterling and change to Dalasi with the Money Exchange shops. Three within 50 meters of the hotel. Interest is charged on credit and debit cards and the cash machines are limited and unreliable. 

Use the local Taxis and Guides situated outside. They are friendly and reliable. A return trip to the Strip is about £12, which includes the driver waiting for you. Please spend your money locally, it's a poor country and a very short season.

Do not expect 4 star UK standard. Enjoy the sunshine, relax and enjoy. With regard to any negative reviews we feel either expectations were too high or they paid too much!

Hotel nice, majority of staff nice. Entertainment staff some speak some don’t 
Entertainment needs to be looked at as when there is nothing on you have a pool table on a small bar 
Paying customers get treated better than All Inclusive customers 
Member of staff told us if we want better drinks then we should pay for them 
Highlights of my holiday was the monkeys coming to the hotel 
The King (entertainment) makes the customers smile
If you want to book trips book with the stall outside the hotel

Chilled out

This hotel is in a very nice, quiet, and safe area, so you can walk to multiple restaurants, shops, and the beach.  The internet and aircon/power are reliable, and there is an ATM just outside the hotel entrance. The staff are helpful, rooms are clean and large, and the grounds are very well kept.

Great hotel, great area, quiet and safe

Very nice and helpfull staff, clean and big room and lovely breakfast with many choices. Nice accommodation with playground for children. Only unfortunately no animation available in the low season.

The staff are second to none, all were very friendly and helpful. the room with a sea view was perfect. breakfast was always of a high slandered.However the only aspect that let them down, was the rooms were not free of mosquitos, they should spray the room once the daily cleaning is completed.
