Raiatea Airport Bungalow

I was in transit to a Trade Winds cruise and needed to stay one night in Raiatea before boarding the catamaran. As I booked last minute, my choices were limited to spending $800+ a night on the opposite side of the island or staying here, conveniently located mere steps away from the airport and just a mile or two from Marina Apooiti. Your innkeeper doubles as the Hertz rental car guy and he picked me out of the crowd, no problem. We are totally close enough to walk to the bungalow, but he loaded my bags and drove me over to it. It was a quaint little room with comfy bed, tv, free wifi, citronella plug-in, half kitchen and nice bathroom. The a/c is an extra $10, which was fine because the room was so cost effective in the first place. You're within walking distance to a little mini mart and a stone's throw from the airport bar/restaurant. Flights take off and land every couple of hours starting at 8am and the last flight is 7pm, so that didn't interfere with sleep at all. Couple of ants and a lizard or two, but you're in the tropics, gotta expect that. The innkeeper was also kind enough to drop me at the marina the next day as well. I would definitely stay here, should I find myself in transit in Raiatea again!
