Les Chambres d'Hôtes de Magali

From the initial charming and warm welcome through to the end of the stay, we were delighted with our time at the Les Chambre D'Hotes de Magali. The room was beautifully decorated in calming colours, which suited the mountain village environment. It was clear that the utmost care had been taken in the decor and furnishing of the room, right down to the local artisan products found in the bathroom. (NB be aware that the bathroom is separated from the bedroom only by a curtain, this was no problem for us and in keeping with the style of the place, but we're mentioning so that you are not expecting something else!). The host was outstanding and the breakfast time gave her a chance to show her attentiveness and care for the guests' needs. Breakfast was the best we have had in Corsica, delicious local yoghurt, accompanied by homemade jams, pastries, and two types of cake, which were beautifully introduced to us. These were accompanied by fresh orange juice and cats of coffee or tea. The host also took time to help us plan a day, showing us destinations and suggested routes on her maps and imparting invaluable local advice to guests. The Chambre D'Hotes are located in the midst of a traditional hillside town which is full of charm itself. Not necessarily the easiest to find, but worth it. On entering the hamlet, turn right and park by the roadside somewhere. Find the passageway in the left corner before the road drops to the right and walk about 80m along until you see a sign and steps coming back up on the left. This short journey into the hills away from the bustle of Calvi is so worthwhile, unless big hotel stays and anonymity are for you!
