3 of us shared two rooms, both of which, decorated by the owner and recently remodeled, were charming, unique, and spotlessly clean. We were so very  comfortable.
The breakfast, traditional with croissant and baguette, orange juice, coffee, eggs, yogurt, cheese, and plum jam was the best of its kind that we had during our stay in France.
The owner was absolutely lovely, with the warmest smile to greet you!
The walk from there to downtown Giverny 2 Km was so easy, and thoroughly enjoyable with a paved path along tall grasses and poppies on one side and small well kept farms on the other.
We were so very satisfied with our accommodations as we wanted for nothing and needed nothing more!!! We would absolutely return.

Perfect!

The Prunière is an original Norman house, tastefully decorated despite the garden being completely abandoned! Near Giverny, it is an important asset, because Monet's house was mainly on the schedule; well counting a big half hour to see more.. on foot; Breakfast is continental, you must know; no effort, white bread stick and laughing cow! I had to claim camembert promised though to the reservation; used to charming guest rooms, we find this surprising! The price does not correspond to the hospitality we usually have from guests, who offer us an excellent morning table! Too bad, we felt tired!

A weekend in Normandy

Just outside Giverny, in a very old house. Everything very nice and tastefully renovated and furnished, very few, very nice rooms, partly a little small. Careful operators, very good mattresses, beautiful garden with outdoor lounge behind the house. Price for from €150 per room in early September may be a little higher, but possibly due to the proximity to Monet. Breakfast extra €10 per person. A total recommendation.

Lovingly arranged

The B&B is managed lovingly by the owner. She takes pride in the place and make sure to have modern comfort while keeping the original style. The hostess was simply the nicest and her art work decorates the place. It was a bliss to simply sit in the beautiful old yard and a relaxing and tasty homemade dinner.
While not in the center of the village, the place is locate within walking distance from the gardens and art museum and the path there is beautiful.

Lovely place

La Pruniere is a lovely small inn about a 20 minute walk from Monet's garden at Giverny. There is a walking trail to the garden that is situated just outside the inn. The inn itself is beautifully decorated and a highlight is the lovely grounds where it is nice to relax and listen to the many birds chirping. A continental type breakfast is available with wonderful breads, cheese, fruit and preserves. Note that this establishment only accepts cash although we had no trouble getting the necessary funds from an ATM machine with our American bank card. Also, there was an extra charge for breakfast of 10 euros per person but the overall value that we received made our stay at La Pruniere well worth the reasonable price.

A special place

We stayed four nights in the historic La Pruniere and found it comfortable and welcoming. We had a large room and made use of the extensive grounds to relax at the end of the day with a glass of rose and the occasional strawberry picked from the garden.  Our hostess Bella made sure that we had everything we needed and was always ready with advice, suggestions or restaurant bookings. Breakfast was simple but complete with coffee, tea, croissants, bread, yogurt, the occasional local cheese and fruit.  La Pruniere is easily accessible by road but is also located directly on a walking/cycling track about 2 Km from each of Giverny and Vernon.  We walked to and from Giverny several times to dine and to visit the Monet gardens and walked once into the Normandy town of Vernon. Rental bicycles are available in Vernon but we would have found it preferable if La Pruniere had some available for guests or if there had been some kind of deliver/pick up arrangement with a rental provider.  Taxis wait to be called by phone and this can be challenging for those arriving by train (as we did) so it's necessary to have an operating telephone (roaming or European sim card) to arrange a pickup.  Moreover, taxis charge from their departure point so a taxi coming from Vernon to take us to dinner at Giverny  charged for the distance from Vernon to la Pruniere as well as from La Pruniere to our restaurant, effectively doubling the  fare. 


A delightful B&B

We stayed here with friends for 3 nights to visit Monet's Garden and the Palace of Versailles.   The house has been beautifully decorated by the owner, Bella, and the two rooms we had were comfortable and charming with all amenities.  The breakfast is very nice - croissants, bread, yogurt, fruit, juice and plenty of tea and coffee.  There is a lounge and a lovely garden with sun beds which we were able to sit in for a couple of hours in the late afternoon once the sun shone.  Bella brought us out free tea and biscuits.  Monet's Garden is a 20 minute peaceful walk away and Versailles is an hour's drive.  The town of Vernon is very picturesque and the 30 minute walk there is away from the road, following a pretty path along the Seine.  There are plenty of restaurants and we particularly loved Le Bistro des Fleures but do book this in advance.

Charming, comfortable and perfectly located for Giverney

This small B&B business only offers two rooms. We selected the room with bath which was a good choice! The age of the property adds to the experience whilst the room we stayed in had a large bed plus large bathroom with beautiful deep bath. After driving North for 700KM that day, the bath was a welcome treat. The owner speaks excellent English and nothing was a problem. We liked the location, away from the road and right on a footpath, a very quit spot. The French breakfast was substantial (for a French breakfast) and it was lovely meeting other guest from Belgie that morning. All in all a fantastic experience!

Beats most hotels we stayed

A quiet, romantic setting, tasteful decoration, accommodating reception, spacious bedroom and bathroom, great cleanliness, a very good French breakfast.

It's a great stay.

Small hotel in a small group of houses between Vernon and Giverny. Great location for visiting the Fondation Claude Monet, also accessible by bike path. Located in an old house, with a skyscraper structure, with few rooms. Our small room, but with renovated bathroom, very quiet.
