Do not believe the one negative review on this site. La Pouillyzotte is fantastic. I travelled with my wife and 2 friends and could not have asked for a better experience. Isabelle and Eric literally cannot do enough to help. So friendly, so chilled and just super relaxing. The food and drink was excellent, local tips on what to do were much appreciated and time spent sitting around the pool was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. We will definitely return - many thanks to Isabelle and Eric for having us!

Wonderful stay

Owners have sent us away for checking in earlier (which they previously agreed as we had young children and the weather was very warm 40•Celsius). The owners have been extremely rude. Moreover the place is very close to the highway and noisy (you can heat the cars and trucks) and the pool is not secured at all and very dangerous for children.

Very poor experience / terrible experience

It cannot be disputed that my conversational French is in the early stages of development. Yet at La Pouillyzotte at Pouiily Sur Loire, I found an understanding or should I say nearly understanding set of allies. It is fair to say that Isabelle and Eric are French, totally French. Yet, they made our stay at their B&B an exceptional experience and I can only apologise for my very poor French.
From the most welcoming soft drinks on arrival, to the moment that you feel as if you know this place. It really is that homely and welcoming.
The room was spotless, and had all that is needed for a short stay. The breakfast was plentiful, with the added bonus of Isabelle's home made conserves.  More than enough for all.
There are bikes for hire, though to be fair we did not take up the offer. The wines of Sancerre and Pouiily Sur Loire were too much of a temptation, thanks again to the recommendations of Isabelle & Eric.
We stayed for 3 nights and spent our days visiting the many wine caves and tastings to be found in this stunning area.  
La Pouillyzotte is bang on the money. This is a place that lives up to your expectation and more.

So much More than a stop off!!

We stayed 2 nights and we had a lovely welcome. The second night we decided to have dinner with our hosts and not only was it a delicious 3 course meal but the evening was extremely enjoyable too. Our breakfasts were equally good!
I highly recommend staying here if you want a good personal experience.

Super stay 

We arrived 30 minutes ahead of check in after traveling 350 kilometers and the owner came out banged the sign stating check at 5:30 pm, then told us to go away. Which we did. 

I cannot fathom a hotel treating their guests in this fashion. I have NEVER experienced this type of behavior from a hotelier, restaurant owner or shop keeper. EVER!! My warning is do not arrive 1 minute early or expect the same treatment. Also, the checkout is 10:30am. Which would not be an issue, but what the heck?!? I guess  if you were late checking out, the same man would grab your bags and dump them out behind their locked gate. 

All this man had to do was explain the room wasn’t ready and could we come back at 5:30? Or how about; “park your car ( behind the aforementioned locked gate) walk around the grounds for 30 minutes, then come to check in?” 

This reinforced the stereotypical rude Frenchman!!

Horribly Rude

My wife and I stayed here whilst we were visiting Pouilly sur Loire and we loved every minute of our stay here.
It is quiet with nice gardens, great facilities for children and were very welcoming for our puppy Logan.
It is a family run business and both Eric and Isabelle were very welcoming and happy to help us for our stay.
Upon booking they asked if we wanted to stay for dinner as well and we accepted and we enjoyed a wonderful home cooked 3 course meal with some of the other guests and the friendly, warm atmosphere was a real pleasure. It really felt like we were staying around a friends house for the evening.
The room was simple but had everything we required and was comfortable and we maximised the lovely safe gardens surrounding the hotel to walk our puppy whilst taking in the nice views around.
Ideally situated only few miles away from Pouilly it could not be any easier or better for those wanting to visit the area and be near all of the best places to visit.
We would definitely recommend this property for its location and pricing as it was exceptional value for the service we received.

Charming family owned business in the heart of Pouilly sur Loire

Our first day in France, a drive of 260 miles from Le Havre to our first hotel.  Yes, bad enough but worse was the late evening arrival and a road closure for which we could not find an alternate route.  We were lost, maps were not detailed enough, satnav kept taking us back to the same point of the road closure, and no diversion signposted.  We called the hotel, really just as a courtesy to explain our non arrival, thinking that we would just have to find another hotel at 21:00!  Nothing of it, the owner and her daughter drove 25K round trip to find us and provide an escort back to the hotel.  Then the owner wanted to cook for us at 23:00 - no just bread, wonderful cheese and some of the best nectar in a glass that we had ever tasted!  Thank you for your above and beyond help, for the lovely meal and wine, for the comfortable room, in a beautiful hotel in a stunning location.
