Victory Hotel Galou

The hotel is centrally located;15 min walk from the Gay and Jewish Quarter, 2 min walk from a mass of restaurants, 20 min walk from Notre Dame and is very close to the metro for attractions further away such as the Eiffel Tower. It’s not recommended you eat at the awful take aways as you turn left out of the hotel. Turn right and you will see lots of restaurants which are great. So the hotel, for 5 nights we paid less than £400 so we didn’t expect much being in the centre of Paris. There seems to be a number of review on here complaining about the rooms not being like a hotel which would cost double if not more in Paris. You get why you pay for here... The room was very clean, towels changed everyday and beds made everyday at around 2pm so this gave us loads of time for a lie in. The bedroom was basic (which was expected) with no kettle etc but had loads of storage space, television (french channels only) and a shower room. If you want a place to stay which is cheap, central, warm, a good hot shower, 24 hour reception and spend your time exploring Paris, then this is a great hotel to book. The only bizarre thing I found was that you have to leave your key at reception when you go out. However, this helped as we didn’t have to worry about loosing it. There is also no lift in the hotel.
