Little to add to all the compliments already set out by others. They are true!
It is easy to walk downhill to Vieux Lyon, although perhaps slightly harder back uphill. However the calmness and location etc of the B & B makes it very worthwhile considering as a place to stay. So much better than an hotel.
Would just add that if anyone has concerns about walking to or from the B & B (especially uphill after time sightseeing or eating down in Vieux Lyon) then consider buying a carnet of 10 tickets at any of the Metro stations allowing access to both the funiculaire (very frequent and only  a few minutes ride close to Le Jardin de Beauvoir) as well as other Lyon buses and the metro. We did and found it both economic and very useful. We were lucky with the weather such that two out of our three breakfast were "au jardin". Wonderful and friendly hosts

Fabulous few days

My mother and I had been traveling in France for about two weeks when we arrived at Le Jardin de Beauvoir and this was one of my favorite places. The B&B is located in the Quartier Just which is about a 15 minute walk to the Vieux Lyon. We stayed two nights in the superior suite which was spacious with a kitchenette and an incredible view of the garden. Mimi and Nicolas are kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful hosts. Mimi provided us with an excellent list of restaurants, graciously answered all our questions, and had many tour books on hand. In addition to the accommodations, the breakfast each morning was delicious with so many wonderful options. I have included a picture in order to convey the breakfast most accurately. I highly recommend staying here.

Excellent in every way

Mimi and Nicolas are perfect hosts and have created a wonderful hideaway above Vieux Lyon to practice the arts of hosting: cooking, conviviality, and communication. As for the cooking, Mimi makes a bountiful breakfast every morning that includes house made marmalades and jams, all sorts of breads, meats and cheeses, and best of all, fabulous scrambled eggs.  As for conviviality, both Mimi and Nicolas are always in the best of moods, charming and accessible, making it very pleasant to ask questions about the transportation, the sights, and city in general. Their communication in English is flawless and makes the whole experience easy and enjoyable.  Oh, and the bed was heavenly, especially after a day of 15,000+ steps on cobblestones. We spent five nights there and could have spent a month.  Although it is high on the hill above the old city, there is a funicular that ends about a hundred yards up the road from the house. Walking down into town can be done by a gentle hill, but it's about a km. And it does have a beautiful view, living up to its name.

Six stars if I could

A gem of a property just 5 minutes from “Vieux Lyon” and a short walk from there to the city centre. Mimi and Nicholas are charming and gracious hosts who truly make you feel welcome. Breakfast is a delight with fresh bread, croissants, cheese, orange juice, preserves and endless coffee is a great way to start the day. The rooms are modern, spotless and most comfortable. The location is set back from the main road in a lovely garden setting, it’s peaceful and restful. Highly recommended and great value

Wonderful alternative to an hotel

Beautiful location, Mimi and Nicolas are warm, welcoming and very helpful hosts.  Rooms are spotlessly clean, furnished with style and the beds are so comfortable.  Delicious breeakfast in a lovely garden room.  We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend spending time here.

Holiday with friends

Charming B&B on the outskirts of Lyon.  What a wonderful and peaceful visit.  The house is full of incredible art, and Mimi's cooking is to die for.  Have the eggs and everything else she offers.  Most of all, listen to Mimi when she recommends a place for dinner. We spent two nights. First night was great (Mimi's suggestion), then we wandered into Vieux Lyon and had a terrible dinner.  Live and learn.

The B&B is sparkling clean and decorated beautifully.  There are three rooms.  Two are flats and one has a spiral staircase to a lavish bath.  If stairs are a problem, go for the other rooms.

Last but now least is their canine ambassador.  Got my petting and snuggling in!    After our visit we stayed in a couple of  hotels.  Definitely noticed the difference between B&B and hotel.  B&B's are much warmer!  
Almost forgot!  It was our 50th anniversary, June 1st, and just by serendipity, the sun finally showed it's face and Mimi asked if we would like to have breakfast outside...Wow, what a great way to celebrate.  A delicious breakfast in a gorgeous setting.. thank you Mimi and Nicoli!

Lyon B&B at it's Best!

My husband booked accommodations here last year.  This B&B has 3 rooms.  Our room was on the first landing to the left of the main house.  We arrived after dark on a Friday night and had some difficulty finding the entrance.  Once inside the main door on the street level, Mimi guided us upstairs to the front of the main house and garden area.  Our room was up one flight of narrow stone stairs to the left of the main house.  Nicholas was very gracious and parked our rental car for us  so we wouldn’t get charged in the paid parking lot across the street.  Our room has its own toilette and bath included.  It is a large bathtub with hand held shower attachment.  King size bed with firm, comfortable mattress and lovely quality white linens.  Nespresso coffee maker in room.
Mimi’s breakfasts both mornings were divine.  Bread pudding made from croissants, fresh chopped fruit bowl of oranges, kiwi and pears, scrambled eggs, croissants and Mimi’s homemade preserves.  She should sell them.  I would have bought them happily.  The location is a 5 minute walk to a Lyon City Bus pickup stop and up high on the hill near the Lyon Gallo-romains museum and Basilica of Norte Dame de Fourviere.  Recommend if you find yourself in Old Lyon after 5 you consider a taxi back unless you are ok with an uphill hike from Metro.  I can’t say enough about the warmth and hospitality of Mimi and Nicholas.  I would want to stay nowhere else if we get back to Lyon.
