I received a marvellous welcome from Elizabeth, the Proprietor, on my arrival. The wisteria wasn’t totally over and there a the area looked beautiful
The rooms are really apartments and well furnished. Mine had a sun terrace balcony with a wrought iron table and chairs A pleasant place to while away the evening with a glass of wine and a book.

Don’t miss breakfast!  The breakfast room is like a set from a Roald Dahl movie or an Aladdin’s Cave. There are puppets. cushions, tapestries, a Rocking Horse, an upright piano, dolls, soft furnishings, assorted bric-a-brac and much more, everywhere you look. It’s delightful!

Elizabeth, whose family has lived in the area for several generations, readily offers useful advice on the attractions in the area and there is a very pleasant restaurant just a few meters away which offers good value evening meals and, after an energetic countryside walk, a welcome draught beer.

I will certainly stay here again

This is a 'must for those who look for something that is not run of the mill.  The location is perfect. Set in a characterful village that has good amenities and lovely walks nearby, we enjoyed our stay and will return.   Elizabeth our host was charming and cheerful and made us very welcome. This part of Alsace has much to offer and Tilly's adds appreciably to that.

This is really a great place to stay. Very welcoming people and an interior you have probably never seen before. The breakfast was very good and the host was very helpful with touristic tips. The peaceful village is very nice to wander around.

Cosy

My family of four stayed in a lovely 2 bedroom modern apartment on the top floor of a lovely old building, overlooking the green.  The beds were super comfy, and I was surprised to find things that I normally have to bring with me like washing up detergent, dish cloth, shower gel, hand soap etc  Elizabeth made us feel at home immediately, it was just a shame we did not have longer to get to know her better and hear the fascinating stories about her family running this place since 1904.  Le Hohwald is very beautiful and tranquil - and for us the bonus was it was only 1 hour drive to Europa Park, Germany and the Black Forest. We will definately come back here again.  As Elizabeth has a choice of accommodation, I am sure there is something to suit everyone's needs.

A gem in a pretty French village

Three of us travelled from Switzerland to Tilly's to spend two nights.
After a very quiet restful night we decided to stay an extra night
We had the amazing choice of accommodation, either in a house in the town, or at Tilly's, or in a chalet, just across from the main house.
We chose the chalet, my friends (husband and wife) had the whole upstairs area, I had a private bedroom, separate toilet, separate bathroom with very good shower, which was reached down a few stairs.  Private balcony looking towards the mountains and across a lovely stream. 
The sound of the stream at night was very soothing which resulted in us having a very good night's sleep.
Our bedding, pillows etc very comfortable.
Breakfast each morning was fresh and appealing, my boiled egg was cooked to perfection, served with a selection of very fresh breads etc, fresh fruit and juice, freshly brewed coffee which was delicious.
The decor is unusual but very interesting, some lovely artwork, and crafted articles.
We were greeted by Hanny who is one of the nicest people I have met, she immediately made us feel at home.
Next morning we met Elizabeth, another lovely person.
They both went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable for our stay.
We met some interesting guests who were staying there which made for an enjoyable stay for us.
Why would you stay at an impersonal hotel, when you have the choice to stay at Tilly's?
There are so many interesting places, beautiful villages etc, so close by to visit.
You are spoilt for choice of restaurants which are nearby.
Would return here anytime for the care and hospitality given by Hanny and Elizabeth.
Pity I live in Australia, otherwise would find my way back for a relaxing stay.
