We arrived late afternoon. Unfortunately the room was not what we were expecting. The owner watched me carrying a rather heavy bag and did not offer help which I thought was unhelpful. We booked the "garden room" which is only accessible from the outside. The door inside the room which leads into the house was locked. No bathrobes, no mini bar, no internet and only french channels on tv. The room looked worn and was much smaller than we thought. In the evening we wanted a glass of wine and the owner said he only could give us beer. Garden furniture had no covers on and in general it felt like you are intruding in someone's home. Like another reviewer said, we were only told on arrival that we had to pay cash and the property is in a very remote village so we had to drive 3 miles to find a cash machine. Breakfast was served from 9am - 10:30 am. Again, it was ok, but a lot of the products were in single packed little containers (jam, butter, cereal etc). For 145 Euros you can expect a certain standard and it was not delivered. Thankfully we only stayed 1 night and unfortunately this is a privately run home with rooms but no hospitality.

Not what the website promises

What a disappointment although  the room was big and well decorated,the toilet was out on the landing with no hand basin in it, the bathroom was disjointed as the shower was on one side of the room and the vanity was on the other side of the room. There was No signage to give any directions traveling by car. The young lady was friendly but could not speak English we were only informed we had to pay cash on the day of arrival. Breakfast was terrible only consisted of coco pops, 2 croissant, a pastry cut in quarters for each guest seriously strange. Would not recommend

Middle of nowhere

We were not prepared for this!  A friend had booked us in when almost every other hotel in Reims was full.  We were six friends travelling together and needed six separate beds.  This seemed to be quite beyond the manager, who seemed bewildered at our arrival.  However, after dinner nearby we returned to find several couches had been converted to comfortable beds and we had a good night's sleep. The decor and furniture are extraordinary, quite exotic, in fact, although we rather had the impression that most of the rooms were only for looking at and "off limits".  Perhaps we would have got a different impression if we were able to stay longer.  Note that is is "cash only", which added somewhat to the mysterious aura.
