We booked via booking.com. Otherwise known as Kelorakka 5. Fantastic find hidden in the forest. It was like waking up in Narnia every morning. The cottage was much more beautiful and spacious than we expected. It had everything we needed and we were paying a fraction of the price of similar places at this time of year. It was a little far from the centre - only about 20mins but when you have children, snow, sledges and a slight gradient, it often took us an hr and felt like longer! 12 euros in a taxi to the centre. 58 euros to the airport. So not a cheap option! The upper mezzanine area, in which there are 3 beds, is not exactly kid friendly with incredibly steep steps and a sheer drop down. Bedroom downstairs however is great. The sauna looking out onto the trees and snow is a great novelty. It wasn’t exactly needed as the cottage was always extremely well heated, including underfloor heating. The front door is difficult to open. Booking the cottage was quite an undertaking - first through booking.com, then contacted separately by lost in Lapland, paid the deposit and then the final invoice with them which required an international payment but it was absolutely worth the hassle for the excellent value given. We were sad to leave.
