I’m very glad I stayed in this place and meet The owner of the place Michael. He helped me a lot in the city, to buy tickets to Awasa. Also he is very interesting interlocutor. Place is clean and safe. Best deal for this money! Would stay there again when I’m in Addis Ababa

Great place and hospitality! 

I have been traveling for almost 18 months around the world, so basically I have been in many accommodations from basic hostels to luxury hotels, but I have never seen place like the one owned by Micky. He is great host who will give you all his time, and make you feel at home. I stayed there the first time I arrived to Addis Ababa. I was planning to stay at Family cozy only 3 night I ended up staying for 10 days the first time. The family are so welcoming without forgetting that they invited me so many times to share meals with them. After traveling around south Ethiopia I came back without any hesitation to spend another month with Michael. I forgot to mention that he woke up around 3:30 am on weekend to preach breakfast and he even called taxi and paid for it (he did twice first time to bus station and the airport). 
The place is clean and in the center of Addis, you have a bunch of restaurants and coffee shops,...
Once I arrived Michael offered me soap, masks and hand sanitizer,( you won’t find that elsewhere) 
One more cool thing, if you have a story be ready to be hosted by the host on a live radio show 😃 (awesome experience).
I read some reviews here about some guests who didn’t found their stuff and it’s kinda weird as I make videos on YouTube and I’m traveling with expensive gears (Dslr, GoPro, Dji drone, MacBook,...) all the time. while I was there I was so confident like I am in my own house. So that’s why I will do you a favor and save your time , in case you’re in Addis Ababa, just book your stay there with that affordable price and I’m sure you won’t find it anywhere around.
No other words can describe my stay here, I left my family back home but I found another one here 🙏.

Wifi didn’t work at all for three days and there’s no heating in rooms. Otherwise all was great.Excellent price vs quality. Clean and spacious rooms. Good advices and service from reception. Shared bathrooms are clean and shower is hot.

Addis and the Family Cozy were my first stop when I newly arrived to Ethiopia.
Michael and his team gave me very warm welcome.10 minutes after I walked in, I had met the first people and had plans for the next days. 
The team look really well after their guests and make you feel comfortable and at home. They will help you wherever they can. 
The place itself is in a very central location, which makes it easy to move around in Addis. 
Rooms, kitchen and bathroom are basic but good and clean and they serve good breakfast. 
Best place to hang out is the kitchen, there is usually someone to chat. 

I highly recommend this place. I really enjoyed my stay and I came back a second time.
Expect to come as a guest and leave as a friend.

great location, very sweet and helpful staff. great vibrant colour scheme, fast enough internet, great breakfast, maybe a bit noisy from the clubs across the way but that didn't bother me.

Mikael and his staff are excellent, hospitable, and committed to making sure their guests feel at ease and at home.  I have always felt relaxed, safe, and comfortable during my trips here.  Rooms are simple, but have everything you need (including working Wi-Fi, which is a rarity in most modest hotels in Ethiopia).  There are shared bathrooms and kitchen, and it is close to good coffee shops and an excellent Habesha restaurant across the street (Nigus).  Everyone that works here is incredibly gracious, helpful, and kind.  Don't mind reviews to the contrary.

Nicest people and such a warm community! Pretty good wifi for Addis, owners should just be mindful to check on it and make sure it's on always.
