Clean, comfortable, and safe!  The hostess is awesome and speaks very good English. I will return!  You can easily spend more money for resort style properties but this location is as good as it gets. It is only 3 blocks from the main plaza.

Looking for my new home in Ecuador

If you want to stay in an original Ecuadorian building this lovingly restored old house is the place to be. The hostel is close to the main square of Vilcabamba and is a perfect base for lots of hiking trails in and around this pleasant little town. From the garden and the terrace you can enjoy nice views of the surrounding mountains.

We loved this place so much. Anya was the perfect host. The room we got was at the main floor of this beautiful house where the host live upstairs. Anya lets us stay in the room few more hours after the check out without any extra charge. We even had a yoga lesson which we liked a lot Anya was the teacher and she was incredible. The common areas are nice and clean, the kitchen is well equipped and wifi works good. There are several hikes to do in Vilcabamba and the house is located so close to all of them. Just 2 blocks away from the main square and 3 blocks from the bus station. Strongly recommended

Ubicado a solo dos cuadras del Parque Central, muy tranquilo y silencioso. La cocina compartida es perfecta. Si desea relajarse en el patio trasero, alejado de las calles concurridas y el ruido. Solo unas pocas habitaciones, por lo que tendrá una privacidad hogareña. Reserve directamente llamando a Anya al 091 391341 (español).

Visited Vilcabamba for Carnival. Rocking time!. But the Avalon Guest House, operated by Anya, is a charming place to stay. Located just two blocks off Parque Central, very quiet and peaceful. Shared kitchen is perfect is you want to chill in the back patio, secluded from busy streets and noise.
