Classic ol' school. If one like the classic deeds, this place is great for a romantic evening. No cappuccino or fancy fusion-kitchen. Just good food like in the old days. Personal waitstaff, narrow menu and fresh ingredients. A bit away from the motorway, but definitely worth even a longer detour!

The rooms are not new and in no way luxurious, but it is a lovely place and the staff is very friendly. It is fairly cheap by Danish standards. So if you are looking for peace and quite in nice surroundings, do not care to much about luxury and you are on a budget - this is the place for you. 

It's quite a way from town - about 4km from the centre of Roskilde. Situated in what seems like it was once a  small, pretty village it is surrounded by some lovely cottages. There's a good Netto supermarket and a small 'kiosk' shop close by but few other facilities.
Lovely building with a pleasant small garden and a reasonably quiet location.
The room was quite basic, but clean and comfortable, the breakfast was very nice and staff were friendly. 
It does have the advantage of being easy to get to from the town and the motorway.
Avoid rooms 1-4 they are in an annex on the other side of the garden.

Room adequate and quaint. Lovely old building. Breakfast typical Danish with cereal, bread cheese and cold meat. Tea on request otherwise coffee. Room was cold on arrival and unable to heat bathroom which is more of a wet room. Shops and ATM conveniently close by. Free parking but wifi was poor. Beds were super comfy. 

Because there where no rooms available in Prindsen and Cromwell I had to spent the night in the Kro during my business trip in Denmark. This is a very old hotel and I enjoyed staying in here because I always like to experience different environments. I felt like leaving in an old movie. Probably during summer time is much nicer due to the garden.

Country style

Sadly was not completely impressed. First dish with herring was fantastic, but second dish with fish was burned and tough to eat. The service though was extremely friendly and the bathroom facilities nice. But, again would point out the interior design to be average. Returning unfortunately would not be high on my list. Not good value for money.
