Lesni chata is perfectly located for x-country skiing. We stayed there for Jizerka ski race. The food in the restaurant was good, although pricey compared to other places in the Check republic. Service was OK. The staff was a little bit "on the edge" in terms of telling us what to do and what not to do. Smiling is free, and it works really well. A little bit more love and friendliness would definately rise our experience a lot. 

Rooms very basic. Two bunk beds, a sink and a closet. That's it.
Showers and bathrooms are shared. They were clean.

Great location

My colleague and I decided to head to Lesní Chata. We wanted coffees, following a joyous morning watching the start of the Jizerka 50, last month. It was about 9.30 in the morning and the whole restaurant area was empty. The establishment was open and thought that we'd come at a good time before the place filled up for lunch. Nothing transpired to be anything but a negative experience of this place.

We decided to sit next to the window on a table of eight and were fully prepared to move if necessary. Before we had even sat down, the lady at the bar abruptly ordered that we sit on the table of four. I was shocked at her attitude especially given she came across as the owner or manager. After expressing my disquiet she blurted out something along the lines of, "I've worked for this place for 12 years." It was as if it was an excuse for her behaviour.

We reluctantly sat ourselves at the table of four, in order to see how things would develop. I did not want to stay and was already at the point of walking out.

My colleague very politely then chose to go up to the bar and order two drinks for us in Czech. This was when they refused to serve her. Regardless of the languages spoken, businesses like these should adopt a warm and welcoming attitude to their guests. If a table isn't available, an apology should be uttered before asking politely for guests to sit elsewhere.

Lesní Chata do not know how to greet customers in Czech, or English for that matter. This is the most prominent establishment in Bedrichov. If anything they should be setting an example for the other places around.

I will obviously not be returning under any circumstances. Furthermore, I do not recommend that anyone goes unless they expect a frosty reception and desultory service.
