Apartments Frane

Marija, the owner of the apartment contacted us prior to arriving, to ask what time to expect us for our three night stay. I informed her of the time our ferry should be arriving from Split and so when we arrived she was available to greet us and show us to our room. Be aware that this apartment is about a ten minute walk from the port/old town. Whilst it's not a difficult walk, you do have to walk up a lot of stairs from the old town and it is then an an uphill walk to the apartment. Once found, it was completely worth the walk in midday heat! (Look for the green building). We had the loft room and the view from the balcony overlooking the port and the old town was fantastic. We had a nice sized balcony with comfortable seating, a clothes drier and an umbrella which we could sit at to enjoy our coffee in the morning and a glass of wine as we watched the boats moor up for the day in the port and the sun setting over the old town. For the views, the climb is absolutely worth it. Marija was a lovely host to us. On arrival she showed us around the apartment, gave us some tips on local things to see and do, as well as left us a welcome cake in the fridge which was delicious. We had arrived at midday, so after our trek from the port we were very hot. We asked her where the nearest shop was. She explained it was back in the old town. On seeing our faces she asked what we needed and we told her we were so hot we just needed some water. She asked if we wanted still or sparkling and went down to her own apartment to fetch us a bottle. Marija also offers a laundry service for free, which we were extremely grateful of. This isn't a negative point, but be aware there are a fair amount of steps and an uphill climb to walk to this apartment from the old town. I wouldn't recommend if you have any mobility issues. Also, I would possibly not book the loft room if you are very tall as some of the ceilings are low with loft beams. I'm not tall but I occasionally caught my head, so if you're tall maybe book one of the lower rooms. If returning to Hvar I would absolutely stay at these apartments again, a wonderful stay was had courtesy of Marija.
