Urban Hotel Boutique

I stayed at the Urban Hotel Boutique for one week while in Cali, Colombia for a friend's wedding. It is a quaint, though modern and well-kept facility located in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. The staff was absolutely amazing; making me feel totally welcome and comfortable even though my grasp of the Spanish language is minimal. As I had many activities to attend during my stay, I especially appreciated David, the manager on nights who helped coordinate and arrange transportation to ensure that I got to where I needed to go in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. Due to my inability to communicate in Spanish, it also helped that David spoke English fluently! In addition, David also made certain that breakfast and coffee were prepared and timed to coincide with my daily schedule. The daily breakfast was included in the price of the room and always included fresh fruit and juice + (in my case) many cups of fantastic Colombian coffee! I loved the layout and decor of the hotel and rooms; the pool, eating area and small bar are situated in a beautiful courtyard that has a fountain and greenery including an avocado tree that bears fruit! The pool and steam room were very clean and I was able to enjoy them on most days of my stay. The furniture around the pool, in the patio and around the bar was very comfortable and I used these areas to relax, read and catch up on emails. I loved my room, it had built-in closets of sufficient size to hang up my clothing + drawers and shelving for foldable items, purses and shoes. Both of my empty suitcases and my tennis bag fit in the closet as well. The bathroom was large, with shelves that I used for toiletries and a huge shower with great water pressure. I was able to access free WIFI from all areas of the facility. In addition to a very comfortable bed with lots of pillows, there was a large screen TV, desk and refrigerator in my room. I cannot say enough good about the staff; they were all so friendly and helpful. I felt very safe and secure at this hotel; this was important to me since I had travelled solo to a country in which I did not speak the language. The Urban Hotel Boutique has a relaxing and private ambiance which I appreciated and enjoyed immensely; this is definitely the place I will stay on future visits to Cali!
