Nanjing John Hot Spring Hotel

Located about a 40 dollar taxi ride south of the city, even south of the airport about a 20 dollar taxi ride. The area is newly devloping and there is lots of construction. The hotel is quite nice, it was once ultra fancy and had gardens full of statues of animals, outdoor pools, gardens, etc. Now much of that exterior has been neglected but the interior is still nice. We arrived late at night, they couldnt find our online reservation (this happened at every hotel in china but 1). They made us up a room, gave us some free dumplings and free fruit. The room was clean and ultra cheap. We paid around 40 bucks for it and stayed 2 nights there. The manager lady was super friendly and excited to have a foreigners stay there. The owner, John, was there but he didnt speak english well so avoided us. His son is in charge and seemed to be doing a good job. The public areas were clean, the staff was all friendly, the breakfast was reasonably good and free. the wifi worked and was also free. If you are staying at the airport, this would be a perfect hotel to stay at. if you are stayingn in the city of nanjing, its probably waaaaay too far south and i wouldnt recommend it. There is nothing nearby. We walked about 2km to a store and got some snacks.
