Our hosts were knowledgable friendly and accessible the meals were fantastic and healthy., and easily accommodated gluten free .The day trips well planned logistically, catered to the needs and the preferences of group. They called their lodge rustic but it was clean,beautiful and  well appointed .The scenery was amazing and the dogs were the icing on the cake.

Wonderful intro to the Yukon

Just finished a 4 day adventure! Beautiful spotless lodge filled with love, (dogs). Home cooked delicious meals. Suited up warm enough that my always cold self had no problem enjoying all the outdoor activities. It’s a complete all inclusive. They found the impossible balance of catering to guests while making them feel at home. I can’t express how much I enjoyed it and hope to return with all my loved ones.

Magical Muktuk!

Wonderful hosts (human and canine). Great locally sourced food and comfy accommodation...and the fresh Yukon air and well water.. plus dog sledding, canoeing, hiking, hot springs, wildlife watching. I loved my time with the Muktuk family off the grid.

The Yukon at its best

Our family of 7 adults stayed at Muktuk lodge in January 2019 for 4 days and had one of the best experiences ever! 

The hospitality from Jeff & Manuela was amazing. All of our meals were provided, and were all home-cooked and absolutely delicious. The lodge is comfortable and warm, and filled with beautifully friendly dogs. Even my mum, who isn't a big fan of having dogs inside, was caught feeding them under the dinner table. 

During our stay we went ice fishing, visited the wildlife reserve, snowmobiling and dog-sledding. Every day was just amazing. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights on our last night too. 

We were all looked after so well and none of us wanted to leave!

Amazing winter adventure for our family!

My wife Shawna and  myself spent four nights and five days winter camping with Muktuk in February We learned how to handle and care for our dog teams and fell in love with each and every one of them. The owners and employees of Muktuk all did a great job. Food was terrific both at the lodge and on the trail. Fantastic holiday, but be ready, it could  physically test you. Quickly bonding  with the dogs was an unexpected surprise. Would highly recommend! Shout out to Jeff, Manuela, Duncan and Mary for making us feel so welcomed.

Exceptional Winter Camping With Exceptional Dogs

If you don't love dogs, don't come here.  Really.  This place is all about the dogs. There are 133 dogs on site.  The working dogs live outside in the yard.  The house/lodge is like a Soldier's Home for retired or infirm dogs and they live with you.  The menagerie includes Cake, who has lost both of his eyes.  Kumbu who has crippling arthritis and calls out from the floor plaintively to his girlfriend who is in heat outside.    Another dog has his leg bandaged and splinted and is limping around.  Dolly, a rescue who has never pulled a sled is a sweet GSD who stole my heart.  Little One is a Jack Russel mix who is very bossy and rules the house.  Then there are several others rounding out the sweet eyes on you while you eat dinner.  If you get off the couch by the fire for a second beware:  Someone is waiting to steal your seat! 

The mushing is FANTASTIC fun.  The proprietors and their staff are fantastic.  But really, if you don't like dogs you won't be happy here.  We were elated.

Dogs everywhere!

I did one of the fall packages and had a fantastic stay and also tried atv mushing with the dogs which was great fun.  The staff and the 130(ish) huskies are all very friendly,  and some of the huskies are allowed in the house.  The food was good and the rooms (including the shared bathrooms) were very clean.  The lodge is remote which made for a very relaxing stay.  I was even able to see a tiny bit of the northern lights one night from the deck of the lodge

Our stay here last September was great! We hired a cabin near the ranch and the cabin was marvelous. With a view over the Yukon river in the distance, completely surounded in wood, this place cannot be compared with a normal hotel or B&B.

The cabin was good, a lot of space and equiped with everything you need.

And when you walk to the ranch in the early morning for breakfast, the warm welcome of over a hundred dogs is unforgettable!
