This was our first time staying at Golden Sands! Doug was there to welcome us when we checked in.  He made us feel like family the second we entered the office. He was kind and had tons of suggestions for restaurants. He was personable and chatted with my six-year-old, who immediately became a big fan of his :). He was helpful and attentive our entire trip. Thank you so much, Doug! I also left my hair straightener behind, and Doug went above and beyond to get it and mail it to me on his own time. The Hotel is old….. Like every other hotel around there, however, it’s extremely clean and kept up-to-date.  We had a very nice room with air-conditioning and a kitchenette.  There is an outdoor swimming pool that was a bit brisk but very much needed as it was around 36° when we were there.  Golden Sands is now going to be our family’s go to hotel!  Thank you Doug for providing a level of customer service that went above and beyond!

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the property is quite run down but quaint and conveniently close to everything, the beach, activities and restaurants!

Definitely nothing fancy or outstanding about this property BUT for the value and location I’d stay here again!!

This July we had the privilege to stay at Golden Sands Resort in Penticton, BC and it was fabulous!!  We were on a fun trip with our six children and we couldn't have been happier with the place.  The accommodations were spectacular and suited our needs perfectly.   We rented adjoining rooms that consisted of one studio suite with 2 queen beds and then a one bedroom suite that included a pullout couch and a complete kitchen.  It was perfect.  There were hardwood floors throughout and the suites were quite spacious so we had plenty of room and didn't worry about ruining carpeted flooring!  There were brooms and dustpans in each unit as well so we were able to tidy up and deal with the sand that we inevitably tracked in.  This resort is directly across the street from the huge public beach and we definitely enjoyed that feature. Fast and easy to get to the beach and enjoy the elements.  There was a fabulous ice cream place right next door too so that was a fun bonus 😀  There are quite a few great restaurants just doors away as well, and grocery stores nearby for all of your family needs.  The location of the resort was perfect as well.  It is on the west side of the beach nearest to all of the amenities in the area.  Our children enjoyed an incredible water bouncy type adventure park right across the street and then we rented a 6 person Surrey bicycle cart right in the other side of the resort!   There is a great pool as well in the courtyard along with plenty of BBQ places and grass to enjoy right outside your door.  Tara and Jeremy run the place and are right on top of all of your needs.   I couldn’t recommend them more!  It was a great family atmosphere and we spotted lots of groups getting together.  Perfect for parties of all kinds.  We were right next door to a bachelor party with people hanging out outside (they weren't crazy!), but there were no noise concerns for either of our parties because the air-conditioning units in the suites provide a great white noise that neutralizes any outside noise.  It was perfect.  We didn't bother anyone with our noise and we weren't bothered by anyone else's noise either.  It was really great on so many levels.  I can't recommend it highly enough!!  We had the opportunity to enjoy this fun town with our family and had all of our needs met.  It was easy and very convenient and fun.  These accommodations will be perfect for you, you will not regret staying here. 😊

How do I love the Golden Sands Motel? Let me count the ways:
• Location on western end of Lakeshore Drive, opposite the beach and near most of the restaurants
• Competitive, best-value rates
• Friendly, welcoming, helpful office staff
• Parking right next to your door
• Spacious two-room suite (optional), with full kitchen, plates and cutlery
• Ceiling-fan cooled rooms even at the height of hot summer day.
All in all, it's a model of how a motel should be run. 
The only downside I could see from our two-night stay was insufficient acoustic insulation through the connecting door to the next suite. 
Next time we visit, we won't even bother looking elsewhere, but try to book here first. (Only hope you don't get there first, on the strength of this review...)

Great motel in a brilliant location right on the beach. Paula working in the office was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Noise carry’s a bit through the rooms but not too bad. Would recommend for anyone looking to stay in Penticton.
