Nikolai met us in the street and guided us in to their locale. A wonderful host, friendly and caring, he offered any help we needed to navigate our stay. Our room, on the third floor, was spacious and clean. A large bathroom with typical Bulgarian fixtures (still unusual for me) was spacious and clean. Our beds touted the usual Eastern European mattresses, relics from the Cold War with designs to inflict as much discomfort so as to garner secrets from us. Nothing out of the ordinary for Bulgaria, they were clean and maintained… just hard. A quiet night’s sleep and a nice cup of coffee (expresso to us), complete with dialogue from our hosts, in the morning prepared us for another day. You can’t go wrong here. They are really, really good people.

Wonderful place to stay

An old and renovated house, keeping the atmosphere of the old days, but providing all you need in one hotel today. On top of that you can have a breakfast done the way your grandma would do. And the location is perfect, in the heart or the old town district, but also in the center of Gabrovo.

Feel like home 

This was the most Bulgarian of hotels, with revival architecture and amazing homemade banitsa for breakfast.  There was even a cat with kittens living in a large garden vase in the courtyard.  A great hotel experience all around.

Authentic and perfect location

Just one night spent here during a cross-country drive and it was a good choice, shaped by tripadvisor  reviews. Not everything was perfect: neither of us enjoyed the too-solid pillows or the suboptimal a/c. But there was much to like, including the room, the shower, the breakfast,  the car parking, the central location, the price, the Wi-Fi, and the lovely hospitable staff (owners?). 

Great value and cute as well 

A wonderful place in the heart of the city!
 Very hospitable owners and a great homemade breakfast! The room was spacious and clean, and there was a sofa and two TVs. The air conditioner worked very well and the room warmed up in minutes. The first day we ate homemade banitsa with lots of butter and eggs, and the second - homemade buns with cheese and yellow cheese. There was homemade tea, yogurt and fruit on both days.
The house has a convenient parking lot. Just a few meters away is the main street with many shops and restaurants.
We recommend this place to everyone :)

Amazing stay in the heart of the city

An absolutely lovely place.
The owners were so kind and helpful, definitely 'going the extra mile'.The hotel's location was perfect - right in the centre of town but very quiet at night. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Delightful

Lovely one night stay. 
Nick's mother welcomed our arrival , offering us a drink in the cosy little bar. The twin room was extremely clean and spacious, with a small balcony overlooking the outside mahana.
After a short stroll from the guesthouse, you are in Gabrovo town offering plenty of choices to eat. 
After a comfortable sleep we were served homemade cheese pastries and homemade yoghurt. My husband asked for herbal tea, it was wonderful, fresh herbs in a glass jug.
On paying our bill ,Nick asked if we were happy with our stay, as he would not accept  us paying if we were unhappy with anything.- We were more than happy to pay,He even gave us a wooden fridge magnet. Great place, lovely hosts. Thank you

Perfect position

Nick, our host, was very friendly. The Guest house is located in the center of Gabrovo, walking distance from the pedestrian mall and adjacent to a very good restaurant. Breakfast was very tasty cooked and served by Nick's mother.

Hospitable guesthouse in the center of Gabrovo

I am visiting "Koliovata kashta" during my business trips in Gabrovo and I really like this place. I strongly recommend it. It is perfect for people visiting the city for business or for vacation. The place shows you the Bulgarian spirit and hospitality. The quality of service is really good and it is located in the hearth of the city. The breakfast is homemade and is really delicious.

A perfect place for vacation or business trip.

Small hotel located in the old city of Gabrovo.
I felt like a part of a family at this place. The landlady and her son took a special care of us and made us feel at home. As long as you are in this hotel you should try the special herbal tea prepared by Nike.
