Love the people and atmosphere, i felt home!!!

Pousada Papyrus is a lovely, welcoming place to stay.  The owner is most gracious, friendly, and knowledgable.  The accomodations are clean and very comfortable and I liked that it is a 10 minute walk from the town centre.  Very quiet at night.  The breakfast buffet is delicious and plentiful.  There are wonderful outdoor areas in which to sit and relax.  I highly recommend staying there when in Tiradentes.  Thank you, Eli!

A perfect place to stay while in Tiradentes

The owner is a very friendly woman who bonded with us from the outset because we are from Vancouver and she loves the city.  The triple room was spacious and clean with a modern bathroom complete with large opening window.  Outside are several wonderful covered seating areas.  The breakfast room is surrounded by full length windows so has the feel of being outside.  The breakfast buffet is top notch.  
The owner had a good suggestion for a walking tour which we took and would rate 10/10.  
The only downside for some people is that it is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre although we found it good to walk after a dinner meal.  We were there in early August and the air quickly gets chilly once the sun goes down so you need something warmer to walk home.  
Highly recommended.

A welcoming retreat

Super helpful staff, nice accommodations, wonderful breakfast, very good location. Pousada papyrus is very well located for those who like staying in a place within walking distance from the historical center, but yet a little bit out of the tourist busy streets. Eli ( owner) and all staff were super kind and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful and cool Tiradentes

We checked out a lot of  accommodations in Tiradentes and chose for Pousada Papyrus, and it was such a good decision!! When we arrived the maid showed us all of the rooms to choose from and we chose the one in house 2. Privacy and direct access to the garden which has beds to chill on. We noticed some couples had a romantic night there at the fire pit.  The breakfast in the morning was the best we had so far. A lot of choice of fresh fruit, even avocado, fresh juices and eggs. But what really made our stay was the lovely host Eli. She was so welcoming and funny. She helped us book bikes to cycle around the area, but also gave some advice on where to travel next and translate portugese for us. Her english was really good! We liked it so much we even booked an extra night so we could also relax a bit at the pool. Why we liked it better than others because it has an amazing view on the mountains, a pool, a garden, and is a bit more quiet because its a little bit outside the center. But perfect for a short 10 min walk. And the host made us really feel at home. Would definitely recommend to stay here!

Everything you want

I spent several days with my four legged baby at Papyrus.   The staff is super helpful, giving suggestions about what to see, where to eat, arranging tours…. The owner Eli welcomed us😉 with open arms and was a friend during my visit.  I’d super recommend ♥️

Passei vários  dias com a minha princesa de quatro patas.  Pousada super limpa, pertinho de TUDO, ajudam com os pacotes, lugares p comer.  Super recomendo!  A dona da pousada, Eli, é super acolhedora!   Amei ♥️

Excellent value, super clean, friendly staff.   A lovely place to spend your evenings

Papyrus is well located close to the Police Station and  chafariz de São Jose - about 5 minutes walk away.( Tip: in very busy days, you can reach quickly the city center by foot and if you take the car, probably you will park very close to the "pousada" - So, leave the car there if you want to enjoy the city center and its pubs and shops).
It has different kinds of rooms available. The atmosphere and decoration are very nice. There is a garden close to the woods in which a reader can rest and be in a quiet and close to the nature environment. 
The staff is very attentions and nice and promptly willing to help in any situation.
The highlight for me is the Breakfast - Yummy! The guest has the feeling that every thing is made carefully and with a lot of dedication.
Definitely Recommended !!!!

Very Nice Stay and Wonderful Staff

We come for a long weekend, first time in tiradentes and we loved this pousada.
We were in the family room, which is big and has a lovely view on the mountains.
Kids loved the swimming pool, and we could relax on the long chairs by the pool.
The owner is really nice and she helps us on everything: supporting us to call a guide to organize a fantastic 5 hours trekking and she also suggested nice restaurants and what to do with kids.
The place is really clean and breakfast is gorgeous, a wide variety of fruits, sucos and tasty food.
We loved this place and recommended it!

Lovely hospitality 

The whole experience at Pousada Papyrus, from reception to departure was perfect.

We arrived late at night. The owner, cleary passionate about her work, gave us a warm welcome an a little visit of the premises so we could choose a room that would suit us. You could feel her sensitivity and intelligence by the way she would address us. We felt like guests, not customers.

The room was cosy, decorated with taste by objects of local craft. The comfort of the bed was out of this world.

At dawn, we discovered the beautiful landscape surrounding the pousada. The mountains encircling the valley and the papyrus grove within the property gave an impression of intimacy and peace of mind.

The morning breakfast still haunts me. I ate for 5 people. The service was excellent and personalized yet discreet.

We could have stayed much longer if time allowed us.

An oasis in Minas Gerais

My husband and I were superbly received and welcomed by the Owner. The rooms have good quality manchester and beds. Beautiful and relaxing outdoor area...great views and nice atmosphere. Breakfast was good too. Very good value for money. I recommend it.
