Excellent hostel!
My stay at Beer Hostel was unbeatable. The hostel is huge, it has private and shared rooms at a very reasonable price, the beds are comfortable and it has closets to leave your suitcases. The kitchen is literally a luxury, it also has a pool table, table football, television with Netflix, YouTube, etc… And on the floor below its own brewery and restaurant with the best beer I've tried on the island (Cajú beer)! The best location, in the center of Ilhabela and in front of the bus stop; from the hostel you can see the sea while you have breakfast, a dream. Tass (the manager) and the volunteers were always available to help us with anything, they were very attentive and fun.
In short, it was an excellent experience. The island was really a magical place but the pleasant stay at Beer Hostel was what made my trip unforgettable.

Unbeatable

We booked 4 beds in a 4 bed mixed room. It was confirmed that the 4 of us would be in 1 room with nobody else. When we arrived, they'd taken an additional same day booking and placed 1 man in our room who arrived on Saturday 4th September and reserved a 3 night stay! We made our booking 1 week before. 
The hostel refused to give a refund, discount or any compensation such as free breakfast for all effected parties. The boy said, "Well you can find somewhere else then," knowing full well it's a holiday weekend, we've arrived after 7pm and we're not going to find anywhere else. 
We explained that 1 of our members is a doctor and works with covid patients so prefers to stay with the group she has arrived with and not add an additional person to the room as she's trying to he respectful of others. The hostel was rude. He offered for 1 girl to move to another room! Again , that doesn't make sense as now we're mixing 8 people when we'd reserved and confirmed 4 people in 1 room with nobody else. 

This hostel is not following any covid rules, overbooking on purpose in order to not lose money and knowing that once you arrive, there's little you can do after traveling 4 hours to a destination. The staff are rude when we are making suggestions and can't make/help reach a reasonable conclusion.
The facilities are worse.  There is 1 working plug socket  in each room including the reception, the communal bathroom which is shared between at least 2 bedrooms and has outside access to more people, has no soap or anywhere to dry hands such as paper towels or a hand towel.
There's no lock on the bedroom door from the main corridor so during the night 2 different couples entered our room and walked through to use the bathroom! This is not safe at all. 

The only saving grace is the location. It is in the heart of the historical centre and in walking distance to lots of main touristic points.
