Terrasses de Malmedy Chalet 132

Stayed here with a group of aging lads going to the Spa Classic weekend (myself not included in the aged bracket). On arrival it was looking like a little bit of a ghost town. The receptionist was only really there for our arrival and the initial thoughts were OMG what have we done! We went down to our chalet and to be fair the accommodation was pretty good, clean and fairly modern equipment and facilities within. There was a kitchen/dining area with a main lounge seating area leading to the patio area (just wished someone had emptoed the fag butt disposal point:-( ). There was a twin room downstairs then after following the steepish stairs up were two further twins. One had a large velux window offering great views down the valley. The site itself was clearly starting to gear up for the season as the grass hadnt been cut on the friday but by saturday they had started to make a dent in the site. Most of all the swimmimg pool was empty: no fun im the sum :-(. The park environment reminded me a little like center parcs with small groups of cabins set on the side of a wooded valley. The views down into the valley were very pleasant and great to wake up to in the morning. I thought it was like the sound of music but on a smaller scale :-) Its well situated for Malmedy which is no more than a few minutes drive away. This was our base for eating and drinking with some good bars and great restaurants all within the main square. My only one warning would be that some of the chalets are looking tired and in need of renovation but it maybe a case that these are not let out. If they are you maybe unlucky!! All in all a good base and would go again if we could guarantee the same level/condition of chalet.
