De Luchtreiziger B&B

I stayed with my husband for a couple of nights. The hosts were very nice and helpful. The property is beautiful and very well furnished, lovely back garden where our breakfast was served. It was absolutely delicious. We hired a car, so the place was ideally location to visit Ghent and Bruges. We would definitely go back and highly recommend it.

We arrived at the De Luchtreiziger after travelling on our motorbikes for about 7 hours, absolutely shattered, to be welcomed by Pol and Kathleen the hosts.  Room was made in their garage for our bikes to go into.  He offered us all a beer on arrival with local small bites of a local sausage delicacy which was wonderful.

Our rooms were absolutely fantastic, very spacious, modern and clean (they even have the name of the B&B sewn onto the duvet cover) and the bed was really really comfortable.

Pol spoke extremely good English and was very knowledgeable about the local vicinity regarding finding a cashpoint, restaurants and bars.  There was a great bar just down the road that offered 1500 different sorts of beers!

Breakfast the following morning was very varied and tasted gorgeous.  Honey from Pol's own bees, homemade marmalade and freshly squeezed orange juice, also homemade bread!  To go with the breakfast we were offered scrambled or boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, croissants, tea and coffee ( I could go on)!

This B&B was an absolute treasure and I would recommend it to everyone (especially bikers)!  You will not be disappointed.

Location:
We stayed in this B&B for two nights while biking around Belgium and Holland. It was the perfect place to stay just close enough to all the places we wanted to visit and they also had a garage we could keep the bike in. We managed to get to Brugge, Rotterdam and Brussels from this B&B so it is well placed as long as you have a car or bike. 

I saw in the guest book that there is a wonderful local restaurant you can try if you fancy staying local for an evening, otherwise there are plenty of restuarants in Brugge.

The B&B:
It is a delightful little B&B, the owners, Pol and Catherine are really nice friendly people who seemed to be willing to give any advice on where to go and what to do. They have two cats that stay out of the way but are really cute and friendly if you are a cat lover. They also have a huge landscaped garden with bees at the end that provide them with honey for the year.
The house seems to be newly renovated and is immaculate. 

The food:
Breakfast was a choice of local cheese and ham with home made bread. There was also yoghurts and fruit and also croissants with home made jams and honey. Tea and coffee was provided as requested and there was also freshly sqeezed juice on the table when you come in. If you wished, you could have eggs cooked freshly for you again upon request.
This is much better than anything i have ever had at any 4* or 5* hotel.

On the landing was a coffee machine and a kettle and selection of teas, along with cakes and biscuits just in case you get peckish.

The bedroom (en suite):
The bed was really comfortable with nice clean soft white bedding, squishy pillows and a douvet, GREAT!
The room was carefully decorated with plenty of room to move around and lovely big windows. The bathroom was spotless and modern.

All in all this B&B is one of the best i have ever been to and i would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Belgium.

Pol and Kathleen are inviting and sincere hosts who made our trip to visit the Adegem Canadian War Cemetery very memorable. We stayed in 3 beautifully appointed rooms. Charming and very clean. Beds were so comfortable. Breakfast included extras like homemade preserves, fresh eggs from their own chickens, and fresh strawberries from their gardens. On our last morning, we had breakfast outdoors among the beautiful surroundings. Pol and Kathleen both speak very good English. This bed and breakfast is only 20 minutes from Brugges and located in a small town of Adegem-Maldegem. We would DEFINITELY stay here again. I have stayed at many B&B's and this one is possibly the best.
