Stayed for one night whilst touring the Ardennes region, La Roche is well worth a visit, take a walk along the river. Looked at the endless restaurants and we decided to eat where we were staying, it was the best decision we could have made. All cooked for you....was great diner and not expensive. Recommend.

Cheap hotel with great food

We found that the Hotel was very good value, clean and with a good continental style breakfast of rolls, coissants, cheese, jams, orange juice, yoghurt etc.  Our room was large with our own shower and toilet, our daugter's double was smaller with a shared bathroom/toilet.  Very close to centre but need to be careful where you park.  Next to hotel is a couple of pay parking slots between 0900-1900 but across the road there are marked slots that don't seem to have any restrictions. I think there are similar slots that can be found: exit hotel to left to small roundabout then first left up the street aways.  Otherwise most slots around town are restricted payment slots.  Dog friendly and good staff, although they dont speak much english but we managed well enough!  La Roche is lovely and we enjoyed the pedaloes on the river.  If you don't pay for breakfast there are lots of cafes open not far from the hotel, my favourite is simply to buy some 'butter cooken' (how its pronounced not spelt) or in the french speaking part croix au butter as I recall and eat with coffee.  Butter cooken is like a sweet croissant with raisins, never seen anywhere except Belgium and they are great.  We bought some form the patisserie that as you exit Hotel to left and walk to town is on LHS called Bourivain Patissier. They were good but best cooken is found in Gent in my experience!

La Roche in Summer

I took a room with shares bathroom on the third floor. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Hot in the summer with no fan and a lot of street noise with the windows open. I could see the castle from my bedroom window though. Easy to walk into town. The shared bathroom needed modernisation and the shower curtain tended to cling unpleasantly. The toilet was in a minute room - you could rest your head on the door in front of you - and had absolutely no ventilation. The hotel said that there was no wifi, which surprised me. Breakfast was OK but a bit basic and the bread rolls were the worst I've eaten all year. The lights on the landing didn't work properly and the carpets on the many stairs are a little threadbare. At €50 I think it is perhaps OK. 

Just in the edge of town this old building is in need of a little renovation but the restaurant looks good.

Wonderfull location village really is special,hotel downstairs, ie restaurant, bar is also top notch, rooms are very very basic and a climb aswell. Clean and tidy but if your expecting, TV, Kettle, toilet, air con or space you aint getting it. All you get is bed sink and wardrobe, point of this place is to crash after you visit the surroundings. The Breakfast are really nice and is one of the best place to eat I have been in.

Upstairs Downstairs.

I have a reservation , i drived 4 hours with a 2months old baby to la roche . When i arrived the hotel , they say me at the hotel " i'm sory a mistake in the booking , your name isnt stay here , and the hotel are full ". !!!!! Never again no hotel free at this weekend becouse it was a national holiday in belgium with firework in the city center .. 
So i drived again to home 4 hours :(
