There is something about this hotel that just suites La Roche En Ardenne. 
It typifies the area in its location and ambience. 
The owner was a very pleasant chap and very accommodating. 
The room was basic but adequate. 
The location is great for exploring the area. 
Breakfast was a pleasant experience served by the owners 82 year old mother. Who did a great job. 
Parking at the back of the hotel is very convenient and safe. 
Did not eat at the hotel but the restaurant and bar area looked nice. 
Also a nice veranda area to sit and have a drink at the front of the hotel. 

Quaint

Our group of four friends from the U.S. recently hiked the Escapardenne-Eisleck trail and had the absolute pleasure of staying here while in La Roche. Owner Jeannot and friend Stephen went above and beyond with personally driving us and our packs to another town nearby to begin hiking yet another trail to continue our hike to Bastogne. Highly recommended!

Unparalleled personal service!

With my Harley Davidson buddy stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Now this is classed as a 2star hotel but I can assure you will get a 4 star welcome from the proprietor Jean. A very welcoming host who knows how to enjoy himself and is a great chef, try the scampi in his special sauce yum yum. Ok the rooms are dated but ours were clean, the shower is a bit slow but works. Try to get a room on the first floor because ours on the third floor was a bit of a challenge. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the town by the river but is not far from all amenities. We had a great laugh with Jean and his mates and I would return to his hotel.


Benelux Rally La Roche

My girlfriend and I had been walking for 12 hours on the Eisleck trail the day we arrived at Hotel Le Luxembourg. Halfway through our walk that day we decided that we needed to sleep in a bed rather than our tent as we were quite tired already. We looked up hotels in La Roche and found this little place which looked like our sort of place. We made a last minute booking which was not a problem for the very accommodating host. 

When we finally arrived at nine in the evening we were met by the very friendly host Jeannot who welcomed us and showed us to our room. The room had everything we needed after a long hike and had a cozy homey feel to it, and everything was in good shape, clean and prepared. We immediately felt at peace and home there! We also had one of our best nights sleep that night! 

The breakfast, as has been mentioned by other reviewers, is really good and you get solid portions and a taste of local food. We really enjoyed it!

Overall we found this place to be great value for the price! And the hosts were very kind and we could communicate with them in either Dutch, French or English. We would recommend this hotel to anyone going to La Roche!

On a sidenote, we did notice some of the bad reviews and we can only conclude from their reviews that if they are used to staying at Hiltons in central London, then sure, this might not live up to that standard. But why you would make that comparsion is not quite clear for us. This is a homey, family runned hotel, and if that is your thing, then you can't go wrong with this one!

Great price-quality value for a cozy and homey hotel

Decent clean rooms, shower adequate but only just. Breakfast very nice in a stylish dining room, Good off road parking out of sight, good for bikes. Lovely little town centre with loads of eateries just 5 minutes walk away.

Cheap Boutique type hotel

We stayed in this hotel for one night only. The host was friendly and helpful. They have a carpark at the back of the building, the metal stairway is shiny new. We stayed in a familyroom on the 1st floor. Actually 2 adjacent rooms, each with a shower cubicle in it. Our toilet was in the corridor (the other rooms on the 1st floor are en suite, with their own bathroom and toilet).
Our rooms were clean enough, the beds, towels etc  were fine. Breakfast was rich and plentiful. The interior of the rooms and the hotel is 'homely'. We liked it well enough, although it could use an overhaul to make it a bit more 'fresh'... we hadn't seen those small crt tv-sets in ages !
