VAYA Zell am See

Excellent hotel. The room we stayed in was a little dated but very spacious and clean with a coffee machine, kettle, hair dryer and a large tv. Double doors opened up onto a little balcony to stand on. Beds are comfy. It looks like some of the rooms have been updated. Food was excellent. Wide range of choice for breakfast including fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts, cold meats and cheese, smoked salmon. Scrambled/fried egg, bacon /Austrian sausage and warm pastries. Evening meals are a choice of three options that you choose at breakfast by marking the menu. Choices are meat, fish and vegetarian. Starters are soup, cold meats, bread, cheese and salad. Desert is a type of cake or ice cream. You are allocated the same table all week. Plenty of choice for drinks Staff are very friendly and helpful. I have seen reviews of staff being rude but I did not see anything like that. Sauna and pool is good with sun loungers outside. The sauna is clean and tidy. You can wear a swimming costume in the sauna and steam room if you wish! A bus runs into town every half hour or you can take a scenic path. Walking back to the hotel is a workout! Summer card is an excellent perk. Access to cable cars up to the schmitenhoe are a 2 minute walk from the hotel. All in all we had an excellent stay.
