Me and my girlfriend came here to escape it all and we certainly were not disappointed. Firstly the staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had a pleasant stay. Our chalet? Well what can I say.. it was spacious, beautifully decorated, we had a Sauna just for ourselves!!! and we talked well into the night on our sun loungers on our own terrace. Thank you for an incredible stay and we will be back !

Beautiful retreat

Located in the smallest of the Alberg villages, Stuben has charm, great ski access and transport links. Of course you will have to forego the abundance of shops and nightlife. (Short taxi ride away ) 
The Flexenbahn lift (just one chairlift over) now whisks you up towards Zurs and the whole Alberg ski area is waiting to be explored. 

Mondschein is a wonderful marriage of the old and new and our bedroom (comfy category) arguably the best we have had in a ski resort.  

On arrival a warm welcome and efficiency in helping to park the car. We opted for the public car park a couple of 100meters away. 

The bedroom was a very Impressive size, ceiling to floor window through which we could watch sunset over the mountains, large bath-tub and let’s be honest who doesn’t want a good soak after a long day skiing. Plenty of hooks and hanging wardrobes.  Only request would be for a draw or two rather than all shelves. 

The ground floor public areas were sympathetic to the age of the front half of the building though the refurbished sitting room with roaring fire has a welcoming  contemporary set up of sofas and local details. A very elegant space.  Each night the 5 course dinner was taken in the first floor residents  dining room and full marks to the charm and service of Alex, Chris, Alberto and team.   One night a clever twist was dessert served in the 400+ year old wine cellar. 

Excellent breakfast with such wonderful breads that I found hard to resist. 

Just a few restaurants and bars in the village though the main hotels tend to take it in turn to have live music so worth seeing what is on. Very helpful ski shop directly opposite. 

Also worth noting that towards the end of the day when slopes in Lech may be a little slushy Stubens remain firmer and at the end of your run head to the Fuxbar for apres ski and if lucky grab a bean bag or deck chair to watch sunset. 

Must do  - long lunch at Hospice-Alm st Christopher and a days skiing in Klosterle - take the bus, 20 mins - long runs and a great restaurant on the top. Avoid weekends as it’s a locals secret. 

Imagine this is a glorious find for summer months too.
