What a Gem of luxury. 
Lisa delivers such a quality experience and is so generous and passionate.  We were genuinely welcomed with such warmth by Lisa, all our senses came alive with the superb surroundings of this beautiful and complete luxury accomodation. Absolutely gorgeous. From the minute we stepped in, we were in heaven.  Fantastic food, home grown and cooked by Lisa, it was soooo delicious. 
We so loved this accomodation that we have stayed on multiple times when we travel to Tasmania.
I have travelled the world and I can say that Lisa's 'Stanton Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast' is right at the top. Thank you so much Lisa for having such a beautiful home and allowing us to stay and have an awesome experience.  Warm regards Jane

A Hidden Gem

This is our second time staying at Stanton Farmhouse and it was just as enjoyable and relaxing as our first time. Lisa is a gracious host who makes you feel at home from the minute you walk in the door. The house is steeped in history and the rooms are lovely. Breakfast, featuring local produce is excellent and makes for a wonderful start to the day. There’s a tea room with homemade biscuits and complimentary port. Both days of our stay there were bowls of cherries and plums in the lounge area. There’s lots to do and see in the New Norfolk area, including Mt Fields NP, antique stores, gin/whisky distillery, berry farm and the list goes on. We look forward to returning in the future. 

Aaah the Serenity...

We felt so lucky to have two nights at Stanton Farmhouse, time to relax and enjoy the hospitality of Lisa and to look around New Norfolk and have lunch at the Agrarian Kitchen.  Stanton Farmhouse is a very comfortable historical family home set in lawns, cottage gardens, orchards, with flocks of chickens, ducks and geese. There are three attractive and very comfortable guest rooms, with modern bathrooms. Lisa has provided everything we could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed a stroll around the gardens, and sitting in the upstairs sun room at the end of the day, and sitting by an open fire with a glass of complimentary port later in the evening. Breakfast is the BEST, with home made and local produce and was delicious. We hope to return again one day.

This 1800's homestead and farm is beautiful and peaceful. The welcome from Rhi was welcoming and thoughtful and the room was perfect with personal touches like dressing gowns and toiletries provided. There is a multitude of friendly and inquisitive farm animals to make new friends with and the property is close enough to New Norfolk and Hobart for any day adventures in the area you may choose to do. Breakfast was delicious! Will definitely be back.  

Perfect B&B Farm Stay

Lisa was the perfect host + her home was a cozy escape for a few nights away. She was attentive and caring throughout our stay, making sure every detail was thought of. When we arrived a bit later on our first night, Lisa has some fresh cookies waiting for us and made us a delicious salmon dinner. She had already prepped the fire for us in the next room, so we finished off the meal with some dessert and a few board games in this space. Breakfast the next morning was just as delicious, and Lisa took note of how we took our tea/coffee and already had this set for us on our second morning with her. 

We ended up being the only guests in the home during our stay, and Lisa kindly upgraded us into the larger room to give us a bit more space. Outside of our meal times, Lisa kept to herself (her residence in toward the back of the house) and let us explore/feel like we had the place to ourselves, which we really appreciated. Her historic home is around a ~30m drive to downtown Hobart so it’s a nice escape from the city and the perfect place to cozy up with a book and friends. Would certainly recommend to any and would love to come back in the future.

Perfect Farm-Style Getaway

It’s always lovely to have your expectations completely surpassed and Stanton Farmhouse did exactly that. The homestead and surrounding farm were picturesque and peaceful, a complete sanctuary away from it all, but just close enough. The homestead has been beautifully restored and it’s enough to just sit with a glass of wine and take it all in. However, there also is a wall of books, fireplace, marshmallows to toast, tea, coffee, sherry, homemade biscuits, delicious food (all homemade and locally sourced). Our host was a great ambassador for the Derwent Valley and we were so pleased that we based our activities on her recommendations. Thank you for the memories, we hope to visit again! Jon and Michele

So much to love, savor and enjoy! A farm stay and bed and breakfast like no other

The 2-night booking was a surprise gift from my husband [part of my birthday celebrations].  The heritage homestead, built in the early 1800s, typifies rural living at its best.  We had the attic room – small, cozy its perfect for short stay.  The personal touches like fluffy dressing gowns, toiletries, and welcome gift left were appreciated. A thing to note: the private bathroom is actually next door so you need to go outside the bedroom to access. 

The highlights – we had three! Lisa, the host, is an amazing cook and the breakfast [shared with the other guests in the dining rom] is a three-course feast, which will fill the largest appetite. Lisa happily caters for special dietary requirements.  Lisa will also prepare an evening meal for you [at a very reasonable price]. Again, it’s your choice where you eat, the shared dining room, lounge room or your own private room.

Highly recommend for those who enjoy the occasional company of other guests.

A lovely place for a short rural stay!

We spent two nights at Stanton and enjoyed great hospitality including delicious food . A very relaxing environment away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Whether it be sitting on the veranda watching the rain or picking blackberries early in the morning on the roadside, time seemed to drift back to a different age and we both felt more relaxed than we had in a long while. The location was great and we were in range of a lot of interesting destinations including Lawrenny Estate Distillery which we recommend both for the experience and the drive through the countryside.

Fantastic food and animals! I had my best farmstay experience in my life during my three nights stay there. Wish to live there forever. Lisa is an elegant lady with sound local knowledge and best cooking skills.We also had a wonderful kayaking in Dervent river.
