My Family with young children loved our stay here hosts were very friendly and obliging. When we arrived the wood heater was going the heater upstairs was on the the electric blankets were turned on it was very cosy. This farm has goats, rabbits, ducks, sheep and lots of chooks, the farmer even allowed my kids to collect some farm fresh eggs. The barn area is spectacularly decorated it would be perfect for a small wedding and other functions. We even wanted to stay another night but it was booked out 🙁.
This is a very relaxing place with awesome views of Mount Roland. Well done to the owners you have made a truly relaxing place. 

Fantastic

My husband and I, along with our 10year old son, stayed at Carinya Farm stay for 2x nights. From the get go, Angela and Phil warmly welcomed us with a lovely clean room and a warm open fire. Breakfast provisions were fresh and plentiful and the beds warm and cosy. We explored the little farm, getting to know the friendly goats first up. Our next challenge was feedi g the pigs by hand which didn't take too long. The sheep loved our chopped up apples and carrots (we brought a few bags with us) as did the goats. We had a meal at the Sheffield Hotel which was really lovely and stayed in on the second night. The kitchen was well equipped. The tour of the egg farm was really interesting and we were lucky enough to see puppies! We'll be back soon.

Family Farm Fun and old fashion hospitality ❤

We loved a brief stay here. We were in the Roland House, with stunning views from the dining table of mountains. We loved and appreciated the little basket of fresh bread, jams, honey, butter and eggs upon arrival, and fresh milk in the fridge. The place was VERY clean, decorated nicely, and even had a few children books which the kids loved. The beds were comfy, the fresh linen and towels were clean and soft. There were a few animals behind fences that the kids could check out, but the standout was the lovely accomodation with lovely views. Communication with the owners was great and friendly and informative. If we pass through this way again, we would definitely stay again. Thanks so much! x

Welcoming, clean, comfy!

We stayed in the Van Dyke room, the room was great! We were greeted with a basket on arrival that had local produce from around the area (eggs, bread, cheese, honey, jam etc). The room had two levels and on the top level was the bedroom and a balcony. The views from the balcony of Mount Roland were amazing! A perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine.
There were also so many animals on the farm, cattle, sheep, goats, miniature goats, pigeons, hens, roosters, guinea fowl, rabbits and even a platypus which unfortunately we were unable to see. You are free to wander the farm during your stay.
If you are looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle to relax and recharge then this place is ideal!

Perfect place to escape!

Was disappointed, thought there were farm animals at this farm stay, but only few goats and didn't over look any farm. Decent place to stay over, about 30 minutes drive away from Cradle Mountain. Though there were hand made crafts in the house.

Good location to visit Cradle Mountain and the Lake Barrington area. The one bedroom unit has all the facilities.  Owners friendly and generously provided eggs , bread and butter and jam home grown/made.  Farm is very peaceful and quiet except for guinea fowl. Room is cluttered with bric a brac and only for a couple.

Tassie highlands

It’s like Mount Roland is painted on, a fantastic vista to wake to every morning.

5 days here was a great break over Christmas, and there’s a lot to do in the area.

Being from the uk, it was nice to stay somewhere near Sheffield! 
A great little high street which was surprisingly bustling most days, and self acclaimed, “the town of murals” they’re everywhere!

The farm was in a great spot, it nice to wake up surrounded by nature, chickens, cows and various other farm yard animals and a nice little water hole down the way with platypus. Awesomeness!

We were a bit like ships passing in the night with the accommodation owners Chris and Gary (it was Christmas after all) but they were very pleasant nonetheless.

Fresh bread, eggs, jams and spreads on offer, we were made to feel very welcome.

A fantastic stay, hoping to visit again.

What a view!

Everything about out stay at Carinya Farm was wonderful. Chris & Garry were such welcoming hosts. We received complimentary homemade bread & strawberry jam, eggs and butter. Our chalet was in immaculate condition with every luxury you could want. All utensils and appliances were up to date and in great condition. We were able to pick raspberries and strawberries from the garden and wonder around the property checking out the sheep, cattle and fowls. The view of Mt. Roland was totally impressive. My one small criticism was I would have liked more light in the downstairs area. Apart from that 9 1/2 out of 10.

A Peaceful Holiday

Myself, My Husband and my elderly mother in law stayed at Carinya for two nights in Feb/Mar 2017. First of all as we approached the property we saw the most AMAZING View of Mt Roland.  I thought it was Cradle Mountain and in my humble opinion the view is actually better than Cradle  Mountain.  Then we met our hosts Gary and Chris.  They were the loveliest people to stay with.  On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely home made loaf of bread on the table with some lovely home made jam and fresh farm eggs to boot!   As we were tired from the boat trip over, we hadn't really thought about dinner so we had that bread and jam for dinner and it was DELICIOUS!  In the morning we saw Gary and Chris and we said how much we loved it, and my mother in law said in a joking manner ''well it was better than pizza'' referring to our meal of bread and jam.  We then found out that our lovely hosts also made their own pizzas as we came back from a delightful day of sightseeing around Sheffield to a beautiful home made pizza!! What a lovely surprise!! My Sister in law recommended Carinya  to us and we are so glad we took that recommendation.  The property was absolutely stunning with the most glorious views of Mt Roland.  The animals were very funny as well.  An adorable cat, hilarious chickens that came up on the doorstep to feed, and also cows in the paddock.  Kids would also adore this experience, we know our nephews had an awesome time at this Authentic Tasmanian Farm Stay.  We must thank your lovely hosts Gary and Chris for all of your help and wonderful hospitality, we will certainly be back!!  We thoroughly recommend Carinya to anyone who is looking for accommodation in the Cradle Mountain/Sheffield/Davenport area.
