Stayed at the Oriental Swan for 4 days while atteneding a conference. This is not a 4 star hotel. But the service was good the staff friendly and helpful and the rooms spacious and clean.The eating facilities are best described as basic.THe food was ok.And the yes, the remote control for the AC was in Chinese. The wifi worked fine which is a deal breaker for me. If you are looking for economical base of operations for a budget friendly visit to Livingstone and Victoria falls this is worth looking at. I booked through Expedia and it was seemless. So 4'stars for what it is.

Economical Friendly and Clean

The food at breakfast was always cold. It was cooked way long before it was served. Mosquitos also caused problems.....you need to treat drainage in addition to spraying the rooms.

cant say anything about the hotel but I have gone to the restaurant twice, once last year and once this year.
last year was terrible, the waitress had no idea what she was doing and it seemed though the kitchen staff had to go on a fishing trip when I made my fish order.
this year was a different story, its almost like it was a different restaurant all together. the menu was different had more options, ney, a lot more options. food was fantastic, waitress friendly. like I said once you look at the menu, you really spoilt for oriental foods.

Refreshing and quiet stay

There's not really much in the way of frills or thrills here, but it does the job as a place to stay. The food is quite Chinese - the dinner menu has a lot of choice. Breakfast is a bit unusual by Western standards, but you wouldn't go hungry. The rooms are OK, with mosquito nets over the bed and protective curtains across the entrance doors. Staff are helpful and friendly.

We tried the food at the restaurant while while visiting Livingston last month. The food is nice and fresh. However, they are a bit on the expensive side. I'd recommend it for a special night instead.

The only good thing about this place is the staff.

I didn't have another option. Livingstone hotels were full during the weekend I visited. The bed and sleep quality were the worst. The mattress is so very hard- felt more like sleeping on the floor. Most of the things like gadgets are in Chinese. The wifi wasn't working, and breakfast had more of an oriental feel. Service from hotel staff is almost non-existent.
The hotel is near the town. I think it could have the potential to be better. The bathroom is ok- had hot water and good shower pressure. Room though  has air conditioning. Nothing stood out. I wasn't comfortable staying in the room, and chose to be out more than in.
I guess it boils down to different tastes, but this wasn't my cup of tea.

Not my cup of tea

WE arrived after a long journey to be told we did not have a booking and the Hotel was full. They found us alternative Self Catering Accommodation. It was fine had a single room for our Autistic son as no one else was there. The lady running it was there all the time and slept in the TV room so felt we had to go to bed early and could not relax properly. Had to go out for a meal and get up and cook breakfast not very relaxing.  Were told we could check in at 10.30 to our Hotel. We had gone to Church just along the road from the Oriental swan so when we finished Church went to check in to the Hotel. (11.30) rooms  not ready. We had a wedding at 13.30 so in the end asked if we could have the rooms so that we could get ready. Could not shower as shower full of hair. It was not pleasant. Asked for a mattress for our son. The Hotel had kindly offered us a third room but it had no adjoining door and our 10 year old son is Autistic so we both needed easy access to each other. Promised a mattress. We came late from the wedding to find no mattress. Our son slept with us. Breakfast was nice self service but most of the food was cold again all food put out at once we came at 0800 for breakfast. Trays hot but lids open. There was no Internet as advertised. Our friends use Whatsapp to communicate to family in Scotland. They were also expecting an important email so we had to go out to Kubu Crafts restaurant to get WiFi.  Quite a stressful weekend.

Not the restful weekend I expected!

Hi,when i entered at hotel there was no porter to pick my luggage. then when i enter to room i found so much dirtyness and i found it was not like as per Picture Uploaded in expedia.com.Secondly, wifi was not performing okayThirdly, HOT water is not coming properly and cold water is dirty as coming out from TAP.Fourth, In breakfast is was so bad, smell around the restaurant was too stinky and bad, you can even stand there.UUUFFFFFFtotatl experience was BAD and TERRIBLE.
